Leon Jacobs: Trys out for Browns
Jacob worked out with the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
After he opened camp on the active/PUP list with a knee injury, Jacobs was waived by the Jaguars on Aug. 1. He now appears to be healthy as the preseason heats up and will likely sign with another team in the near future.

Leon Jacobs: Waived by Jacksonville
Jacobs (knee) was waived by the Jaguars on Friday, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Jacobs landed on the Active/PUP list to begin camp while recovering from a torn ACL that he sustained in September of 2020, but he'll now be let go under a failed physical designation. The 25-year-old recorded three solo tackles across three games prior to suffering his injury last year.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Placed on PUP list
The Jaguars have placed Jacobs (knee) on the Active/PUP list, NFL reporter Aaron Wilson reports.
Jacobs is recovering from a torn ACL that he sustained in September of last season. It remains unclear how close he is to returning to on-field activities. When healthy, he projects to provide depth at inside linebacker for the Jags.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Shifts to injured reserve
Jacobs (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
The 25-year-old suffered a torn ACL during Thursday's loss to the Dolphins, so it was only a matter of time before he moved to injured reserve. Jacobs will miss the rest of the season and will focus his recovery efforts on being ready for offseason work in 2021.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Suffers torn ACL
Jacobs (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Thursday's loss to the Dolphins, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Jacobs had to be carted off the field Thursday, and Friday's MRI confirms a near worst-case scenario for the third-year pro. Jacksonville's defense has surrendered an average of 109 rushing yards per contest through three weeks, and the loss of Jacobs stands to further detract from the front seven's ability to stop the run. Cassius Marsh and Dakota Allen appear in line to handle increased defensive snaps going forward.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Out for remainder of TNF
Jacobs (knee) was carted off the field during Jacksonville's first defensive drive of the game and he will be unable to return Thursday night against the Dolphins, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
This development thins out the middle of the Jaguars defense, forcing Cassius Marsh and Dakota Allen into more prominent roles alongside remaining starting linebackers Myles Jack and Joe Schobert. Myles Gaskin chewed up Jacksonville's defense for 35 rushing yards on the opening drive as Miami went down for an immediate touchdown, and now the going may get even tougher for the Jaguars' front seven with the recent injury to Jacobs.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Starts seven games in 2019
Jacobs had 42 tackles (31 solo), two sacks and one pass defensed in 14 games this season.
The 24-year-old missed two games with a hamstring injury as Jacksonville dealt with a multitude of linebacker injuries overall, but Jacobs was able to work in a rotational role for most of the season. The 2018 seventh-round pick likely will enter training camp in line for a similar role next season.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Tallies second sack
Jacobs had three tackles (two solo) and a sack during Sunday's 28-11 loss to Tampa Bay.
The 24-year-old is seeing more defensive work of late, playing 72 defensive snaps in the last two contests after seeing only 137 snaps through his first eight games of the year. Despite the increased workload, Jacobs' IDP value remains limited since he's not working in an every-down role.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Returns from hamstring injury
Jacobs (hamstring) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
Jacobs sat out the last two games with the hamstring issue but is good to go coming out of the bye week. The 24-year-old has three starts this season but mostly plays a rotational role on defense, as he's played over 40 percent of defensive snaps in only one of seven games.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: To practice Monday
Jacobs (hamstring) will return to practice Monday after the bye, Hays Carlyon of 1010 AM WJXL reports.
Jacobs has missed two straight with the issue and will be of help in a depth role if he can return. The 24-year-old hasn't played more than 29 snaps on defense in a game yet this season.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Won't play Week 9
Jacobs (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Texans, Hays Carlyon of 1010 AM WJXL reports.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Can't practice Thursday
Jacobs (hamstring) will not participate in Thursday's practice.
Jacobs sat out Week 8 against the Jets due to a lingering hamstring issue, and he appears to be trending toward another absence. With a bye around the corner Week 10, Jacobs may be targeting a return Nov. 17 versus Indianapolis.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Ruled out Sunday
Jacobs (hamstring) was ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Jets.
Jacobs popped up on the injury report as a non-participant Wednesday and wasn't able to progress to a limited participant. The Jaguars are hurting for depth at linebacker with Najee Goode (foot) and Quincy Williams (hamstring) also ruled out.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Battling injury
Jacobs (hamstring) will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Michael DiRocco of ESPN reports.
Jacobs played just four defensive snaps but still managed a full special-teams workload in this past Sunday's win over the Bengals, so this injury appears to have surfaced over the past couple days. He's trending toward a questionable designation for Week 8's game against the Jets if he can't upgrade to full participation.

Jaguars' Leon Jacobs: Gets first career sack
Jacobs recorded four tackles (one solo) and a half-sack during Sunday's 13-12 loss to the Texans.
Jacobs notched the first sack of his career during Week 2's loss to the Texans. The second-year linebacker played only 27 percent of defensive snaps (18), however, and he would need to earn a more consistent role to warrant fantasy consideration in IDP leagues.
