Giants' Tim Boyle: Fills in following DeVito exit
Boyle entered Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Ravens on Sunday with 27 seconds remaining in the second quarter for Tommy DeVito (concussion) and completed 12 of 24 passes for 123 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed once for minus-1 yard.
Boyle took a knee on his first play from scrimmage to end the first half and then played the entirety of the last two quarters. Considering the circumstances, Boyle was serviceable, throwing a 23-yard touchdown pass to Malik Nabers in the fourth quarter along the way. The journeyman signal-caller could conceivably be called on to start a Week 16 road matchup against the Falcons if both DeVito and Drew Lock (heel) are unavailable.

Boyle has been signed from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Boyle signed with the Giants' practice squad Tuesday, and this move suggests he'll operate as the team's emergency quarterback Sunday behind Drew Lock (heel/left elbow) and Tommy DeVito. Boyle could be promoted to a backup role in case Lock is unable to go Sunday, but he'd need an injury to DeVito to have a shot at seeing the field against Baltimore.

Boyle signed to the Giants' practice squad Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Boyle signed to the Giants' practice squad in November before moving up to the active roster to serve as the third quarterback behind Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock. Boyle was waived on Saturday ahead of New York's 14-11 loss to the Saints on Sunday, but Lock needed X-rays for an undisclosed injury after the defeat. New York coach Brian Daboll said Lock would remain the starter if he's healthy enough to go next Sunday against the Ravens, per Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record.

It appears the Giants are doing everything they can to avoid playing Daniel Jones again this season, even in an emergency, Stapleton believes. Since announcing Jones' benching on Monday, the Giants have said Tommy DeVito will be the starter the remainder of the season, with Boyle signed to the practice squad. Boyle could be a candidate to resurface on Miami's practice squad, but with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) now off IR, the Dolphins don't intend to roster three quarterbacks. Dolphins' Tim Boyle: Sees action in relief
Boyle completed eight of 13 passes for 74 passes after replacing Tyler Huntley (shoulder) in the third quarter of Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Colts. He added four rushing yards on his lone carry.
The 30-year-old quarterback failed to produce points on any of his four drives under center, although Jason Sanders did clank a 54-yard field-goal attempt off the left upright in the fourth quarter. Boyle also saw brief action in Week 3 in relief of Skylar Thompson (ribs), but he could be pressed into duty for a start in Week 8 against the Cardinals if none of Huntley, Thompson or Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) are able to play. Miami doesn't currently have a quarterback on its practice squad, so the team would have to look outside the organization for a backup to Boyle in that scenario.
