Scott Quessenberry: Tries out with Washington
Quessenberry (knee) took part in a tryout with the Commanders on Thursday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Quessenberry tore his ACL and MCL last August and missed the entire 2023 campaign. He's presumably now healthy and looking to latch on with a new organization. Quessenberry started 16 of 17 games with Houston in 2022 and had re-signed with the team on a one-year deal prior to suffering the knee injury.

Texans' Scott Quessenberry: Placed on IR with torn ACL
The Texans placed Quessenberry (knee) on injured reserve Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Quessenberry started 16 of 17 games at center for Houston last season and re-signed with the Texans on a one-year, $2.1 million deal. He was expected to compete with 2023 second-rounder Juice Scruggs for the starting job, but now Scruggs will likely open the season as the starter while Quessenberry will undergo surgery for the torn ACL and MCL and spend 2023 rehabbing.

Texans' Scott Quessenberry: Torn ACL and MCL confirmed
Quessenberry was determined, via Thursday's test results, to have torn both his ACL and MCL during Wednesday's practice, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Houston's starting center was carted off during Wednesday's practice and unfortunately, the injury to his knee is even more severe than first believed. Quessenberry started 16 games for the Texans last season after four seasons with the Chargers. Expect 2023 second-round pick, Juice Scruggs to now start at center for Houston ahead of the coming season.

Quessenberry (undisclosed) needed to be carted off the field during training camp Thursday. Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Quessenberry's injury details are unclear, so it's hard to know the potential severity of it. The 28-year-old came into camp competing with rookie Juice Scruggs for the starting center job, but he'll now need to recover first before he can return to working to earn that role.

Quessenberry re-signed Wednesday with the Texans on a one-year contract, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Quessenberry was a 16-game starter along Houston's offensive line in 2022 and fared well enough during his time on the field for the Texans to bring him back for another year. The 27-year-old took over at center after Justin Britt left the team for personal reasons.

Chargers' Scott Quessenberry: Available for Thursday
Quessenberry (undisclosed) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of Thursday's game against the Chiefs.
Quessenberry missed Sunday's win over the Giants while in COVID-19 protocols, but his absence will be limited to one game. He should fill a reserve role on the interior offensive line for the Chargers now that he's cleared to play.

Quessenberry was put on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
The center will now enter the league's COVID protocols and will be in danger of missing Sunday's contest against the Giants. It is unknown if Quessenberry tested positive for the virus or if he was deemed to be in close contact with someone who has, so the length of his absence remains to be seen.
