Ellis (concussion) was waived with a "left squad" designation Tuesday, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
When he clears waivers, he'll revert to the Reserve/Left Squad list, which means he won't be able to suit up or practice for another NFL team for the rest of the season. This designation is reserved for players who leave their teams without permission after reporting to camp.
