Lou Young: Waived from IR
Young (hamstring) reached an injury settlement with Arizona and was waived Thursday, per NFL Communications.
Young was placed on injured reserve last week after clearing waivers. Now that he's been waived with a settlement, he's free to play in 2018, assuming he is claimed or signs with another team as a free agent and is able to make a roster. He'll be competing for a depth secondary and special teams role.

Young was waived by the Cardinals earlier Wednesday but cleared quickly, and the team reverted him to injured reserve. Assuming he doesn't wind up with an injury settlement and isn't designated to return later in the season, Young will aim to return in 2018.

Young (hamstring) was waived by the Cardinals on Wednesday, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
Young sustained a hamstring injury one week ago and has yet to show any rehab progress. Perhaps the slowed development prompted the Cardinals to look for a temporary replacement, but either way, Young's brief tenure in Arizona appears to be over.

Cardinals' Lou Young: Injured during practice Thursday
Young suffered an injury late in Thursday's practice session and moved around gingerly afterward, the Cardinals' official site reports.
Young will have a couple of days to heal up before the Cardinals open their preseason against the Chargers on Saturday. After suffering an injury in the preseason last year and being eventually waived by the Redskins with an injury settlement, Young, who appeared in six games with the Panthers in 2016, will need to make an impression during training camp to hang on to a 53-man spot.

Cardinals' Lou Young: Inks deal with Arizona
Young agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Monday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
The 26-year-old has existing familiarity with new Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks, who served as the Panthers' defensive coordinator in 2016, when the cornerback appeared in six games for Carolina. Young spent the 2017 preseason with the Redskins but was released in August after suffering a groin injury.
