Parkey (groin) received a tryout with the Chiefs on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Parkey was last with the Saints in 2021, ultimately ending up on IR and reaching an injury settlement with the team. Now healthy, Parkey was given the opportunity to earn a chance with the Chiefs, as they prepare to possibly be without Harrison Butker (ankle) on Thursday. However, the Chiefs signed Matt Ammendola, who was also present at the tryout, to their practice squad instead.

Cody Parkey: Released by New Orleans
Rotowire
Parkey (groin) was released by the Saints with an injury settlement Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Parkey was set to be placed on injured reserve by New Orleans on Tuesday, but he was instead released with the injury settlement. He went 3-for-5 on PATs and didn't attempt a field goal during Sunday's win over Washington, when he apparently suffered the injury during pregame warmups.

Saints' Cody Parkey: Ticketed for IR
Rotowire
Parkey will be placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a groin injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Parkey, whom the Saints signed Oct. 5, made his team debut in Sunday's 33-22 win over Washington and connected on three of five point-after attempts in the victory. According to Rapoport, Parkey tweaked his groin in pregame warmups, which likely explains the inaccuracy on his extra-point tries. Rather than waiting to see how Parkey progresses from the injury during the team's Week 6 bye, the Saints will instead elect to find a replacement before their next game Oct. 25 in Seattle. One option could be Wil Lutz, who has been on injured reserve all season while recovering from core-muscle surgery but who could be ready to go by the end of the month.

Saints' Cody Parkey: Struggles with extra-point attempts
Rotowire
Parkey converted three of five PATs during Sunday's 33-22 win over Washington.
Even though he didn't get a chance to redeem himself with any field goals, this will likely be Parkey's first and last game with New Orleans, especially if Wil Lutz (abdomen) is able to return from injured reserve after the Saints' Week 6 bye.

Saints' Cody Parkey: Inks deal in New Orleans
Rotowire
The Saints signed Parkey (quadriceps) on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Saints worked out a number of running backs Tuesday, but Parkey was the only kicker involved in the proceedings. After enduring a subpar four-game stretch from Aldrick Rosas in place of the injured Wil Lutz (core muscle surgery), the team released the former and sought out a replacement. Parkey himself lost out on a kicker competition in Cleveland this summer, partly due to a quad issue that forced him to IR and eventually got him cut. He has passed a physical, though, and now will serve as New Orleans' kicker for at least one contest.

Cody Parkey: Parts ways with Browns
Rotowire
The Browns cut Parkey (quadriceps) from injured reserve Tuesday, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports.
Parkey hit IR due to a quadriceps injury Monday, but rather than have his 2021 season end there, he's reached an injury settlement with the Browns. As such, Parkey will be free to sign elsewhere when back to full health. Chase McLaughlin is the only remaining placekicker on Cleveland's roster.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Going on IR
Rotowire
Parkey is headed for IR due to a quad injury, Dan Labbe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
As a result, Chase McLaughlin currently is the Browns' only healthy placekicker, though it's quite possible that some competition will be brought in shortly. With that in mind, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com suggests that Ryan Santoso of the Giants is someone the Browns could potentially target.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Suffers quad injury
Rotowire
Parkey suffered a quad injury in Sunday's preseason contest against the Giants, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Parkey converted the extra-point attempt after the team's first touchdown and subsequently kicked off. Presumably, he suffered the injury during one of those two events, as he did not appear in the game after. There has been no timeline given for a potential return. Though the Browns brought in Chase McLaughlin to compete for the kicker job, Parkey is presumed to be the frontrunner for the role assuming he can return to health.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Shares kicking duties in opener
Rotowire
Parkey made two of two field-goal attempts in Saturday's 23-13 win over the Jaguars in Preseason Week 1.
Parkey is the presumed starting placekicker, 'though the Browns added Chase McLaughlin to camp. The two shared kicking duties Saturday, each getting opportunities on field goals, extra points and kickoffs. If there's a competition going on, then it might be notable that McLaughlin had longer kickoffs (all touchbacks), while two of Parkey's were returned, including one for 76 yards, which was called back by a holding penalty. Parkey is expected to return to the job he held last season.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Improved accuracy
Rotowire
Parkey made all five field-goal attempts during Tuesday's practice, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Parkey had a miserable first day kicking, making just one of five, but he's been perfect in the two sessions since then. While the Browns will carry Chase McLaughlin in camp and preseason games, there doesn't appear to be much of competition. Of note, Parkey hasn't attempted any kicks from 50-plus yards, and his longest make from last season was 46 yards.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Rough start to camp
Rotowire
Parkey missed four of five field-goal attempts during a kicking session at Thursday's practice, Dan Labbe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Parkey stabilized Cleveland's kicking game when he was brought in prior to Week 2 of 2020 and was perfect through the Browns' playoff run. He also may have stabilized his career. He spent the last six seasons kicking for six different franchises and hasn't been a starting kicker for the same team in consecutive seasons yet during his career. Parkey, who has been successful on 86.4 percent of his attempts over his career, has a challenger in camp, Chase McLaughlin, who nailed all five of his attempts.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Back in Cleveland
Rotowire
The Browns are re-signing Parkey to a one-year contract, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
It's no understatement to say that Parkey's showing with the Browns last season revitalized his career. The 29-year-old converted 86 percent of his field-goal tries in 15 regular-season appearances, and he was perfect in each of the team's playoff games. After spending time on six different teams from 2015-2020, Parkey will now get to stick around a familiar situation and attempt to bring stability.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Makes all kicks in playoff loss
Rotowire
Parkey successfully converted his lone field-goal attempt and made both extra-point kicks in Sunday's 22-17 playoff loss to Kansas City.
Following a late-season stumble, during which Parkey missed kicks in three consecutive games, the placekicker was perfect in the final game of the regular season and two playoff contests. The Browns, familiar with Parkey when he kicked for the organization in 2016, brought him in to replace a shaky Austin Seibert in Week 2. Parkey stabilized the kicking game, finishing the regular season with 100 points while connecting on 86 percent of his FGA (19 of 22) over 15 games. The journeyman placekicker, who has spent the last six seasons on six different teams, becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2021.

Rotowire
Parkey made all of his kicks Sunday, connecting on his lone field-goal attempt and three of three extra-point kicks in a 24-22 win over Pittsburgh.
Parkey occupied a warm seat after missing kicks in three consecutive games. The matter did not rise to a point where the team considered replacing him, but the misses were a topic leading up to Week 17's win-and-in game. Parkey and the Browns will travel to Pittsburgh next week for a wild-card playoff game.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Misses piling up
Rotowire
Parkey made his lone field-goal attempt and one of two extra-point kicks in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Jets.
The failed extra point did not impact the final outcome, but Parkey has missed an extra-point kick in three straight games. He also missed a 39-yard field-goal try during that stretch. He had been hot from Week 2 through 13 -- 17-of-19 FGA, 33-of-34 XPA -- before this latest stretch.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Missed kick not a factor
Rotowire
Parkey did not attempt a field goal and made two of three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Giants.
Parkey missed the third of nine kicks over the last two weeks, but he could be forgiven for this one. The extra-point attempt was pushed back to the 48-yard line due to a taunting penalty on the touchdown. Unlike last week's game against Baltimore, Parkey's miss Sunday was not a factor in the outcome. He'll look to right himself Week 15 on the road against the Jets, which rank 29th in fantasy scoring allowed to kickers.

Parkey missed a 39-yarder, his second miss from the 30 to 39 range, but overall he's been accurate and provided stability in the kicking game. He's made 85 percent of his field-goal attempts (17-of-20) and 95 percent of his extra-pointers (37-of-39) this season. Parkey and the Browns travel to New York next Sunday night for a game against the Giants' 10th-ranked scoring defense.

Browns' Cody Parkey: Posts seven points in win
Rotowire
Parkey was successful on two of three field-goal attempts and made his lone extra-point kick in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Eagles.
Parkey missed the practice week while on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but he was cleared over the weekend and continued to be a consistent scorer when called upon. Sunday's miss was a 47-yard try that was blocked, just Parkey's second misfire across 41 total kick attempts this season. The veteran has been a welcome salve to the inconsistent Austin Seibert, who was released after Week 1. Week 12 could be a favorable one for Parkey; the Browns are on the road in Jacksonville against the league's 30th-ranked scoring defense (29.8 PPG).
