Seth Roberts: Cut loose by Panthers
The Panthers released Roberts on Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Roberts suited up for each of Carolina's first seven games, averaging 13.3 snaps on offense per contests and totaling four receptions for 31 yards. The 29-year-old receiver has been pushed out of the depth role by the likes of Brandon Zylstra, Pharoh Cooper and Marken Michel, so Roberts will look to add depth at receiver elsewhere.

Seth Roberts: Joins practice squad
Roberts was signed to Green Bay's practice squad Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Roberts was cut loose earlier in the day by Carolina, but it didn't long to find a new home. According to Demovsky, the plan is to initially sign him to the practice squad, though given the Packers' lack of competent receiver depth, it wouldn't be surprising to see Roberts elevated to the 53-man roster at some point.

Panthers' Seth Roberts: Set for increased role
With Curtis Samuel (knee) inactive, Roberts is set for an increased role, David Newton of ESPN reports.
Samuel was a surprise scratch with the knee issue, so Roberts will assume his third-string role. Roberts has seen just six targets this season, hauling in four passes for 31 yards. He'll look to take some of the attention and burden off starters Robby Anderson and DJ Moore against the stingy Chicago pass defense Sunday.

Panthers' Seth Roberts: Hauls in two passes
Roberts caught two of three targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 21-16 win over the Chargers.
Roberts moved the sticks with a 12-yard reception on Carolina's second drive, helping set up a field goal for the game's opening points. Although he made a minimal impact after that, Roberts at least featured on one-third of his team's offensive snaps, a role that should lend itself to occasional catches in upcoming weeks as well.

Roberts played just five offensive snaps, so him being targeted on two of those was noteworthy. Nonetheless, with Brandon Zylstra featuring for eight plays, Roberts actually placed fifth among Carolina's wideouts in snaps, a reality that should significantly restrict expectations for him ahead of Week 2's game in Tampa Bay.

Roberts isn't yet cleared for contact, but his return to practice in a restricted capacity is indicative that he's making progress through the five-step concussion protocol. He should be in the mix for the No. 4 receiver gig behind D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel when healthy.

Panthers' Seth Roberts: Leaving Baltimore for Carolina
Roberts (ankle) agreed to a contract Wednesday with the Panthers, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Roberts provided a hint of his next destination Tuesday via his personal Twitter account, posting "Joe Brady" and nothing more. He'll now get to work the Panthers new offensive coordinator, joining a young team that's swapping out Cam Newton for Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback. Assuming there are no major complications from his January ankle injury, the 29-year-old Roberts should be in the mix for Carolina's No. 3 receiver job behind D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. The occupant of that role in 2019, Jarius Wright, is now an unrestricted free agent.

Ravens' Seth Roberts: Recovering from ankle sprain
Roberts suffered an ankle sprain during a 28-12 loss to Tennessee in the divisional round of the playoffs, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official website reports.
Roberts suffered his injury late in the second quarter, finishing with two catches for 30 yards (plus a drop) on four targets. Coach John Harbaugh suggested after the game that the wide receiver wouldn't have been able to play if Baltimore had advanced in the playoffs. In any case, Roberts will turn 29 in February and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. The Ravens seemed to appreciate his work as a run blocker, but he'll presumably need to battle for his snaps even if the team re-signs him for 2020. Marquise Brown and Willie Snead appear to be locked into their respective roles, essentially leaving one starting WR spot up for grabs in Baltimore.

Ravens' Seth Roberts: Two grabs in loss
Roberts caught two of four targets for 30 yards in the divisional-round loss to the Titans.
The veteran recorded 21 catches for 271 yards on 35 targets over the course of the regular season and added to that total in the postseason. The Ravens are looking to upgrade their receiving corps in the offseason and build around rookie wideout Marquise Brown. While Roberts offered some marginal value in the offense in 2019, it's entirely possible that the Ravens let him walk in free agency given that he was on a one-year deal.
