  • Austin Fort: Joins Tennessee's practice squad

The Titans signed Fort to their practice squad Tuesday, John Glennon of BroadwaySportsMedia.com reports.

Fort spent the 2019 and 2020 season on Denver's injured reserve after season-ending knee surgeries. The 26-year-old wasn't a prolific pass catcher in college, catching just 17 passes for 221 yards and four touchdowns during his two years at Wyoming. However, his size (6-4, 244 pounds) projects him to be a solid extra blocker.

  • Austin Fort: Moves to waivers

The Broncos waived Fort on Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Fort missed the last two seasons with knee injuries. He has a clean bill of health, but with no NFL regular-season games to his name, he'll likely need to settle for a practice-squad spot.

  • Broncos' Austin Fort: Looks to establish role in offense

Fort is a candidate to win the Broncos' third tight end spot, Cody Roark of 9 News Denver reports.

Fort now has a clean bill of health after recovering from knee injuries suffered in both of the last two preseasons. The 26-year-old is currently behind starter Noah Fant and backup Albert Okwuegbunam in the pecking order at tight end, so he'll realistically be competing for the No. 3 role with Andrew Beck, Shaun Beyer and Eric Saubert. If Fort ends up as the team's third tight end, he would likely need an injury or absence on the part of either Fant or Okwuegbunam to be considered close to the fantasy radar. In such a scenario, Fort's skills as a blocker and receiver could help him to establish a role in Denver's offense.

  • Broncos' Austin Fort: Heading to IR

The Broncos will place Fort (knee) on injured reserve, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Fort is still working his way back from the torn ACL that caused him to miss the entire 2019 campaign. Klis seems to imply that the Broncos will wait until after Saturday's cut deadline to place Fort on injured reserve, in which case he won't be subjected to waivers, which would leave the door open for a potential 2020 return.

  • Broncos' Austin Fort: Set for extended absence

Coach Vic Fangio said Monday that Fort is expected to miss 4-to-8 weeks after undergoing an arthroscopic knee procedure, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.

Fort already missed the entire 2019 season with a torn ACL, and this news doesn't bode well for his chances to start 2020 on time either. He's still a bit buried on the depth chart behind younger options, so he's not likely to make a fantasy impact anyway heading into this campaign.

  • Broncos' Austin Fort: Set to go under knife

Fort (knee) will undergo an arthroscopic knee procedure, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Fort sat out of the 2019 season after tearing his ACL, and he's expected to be out a while following this procedure. The 25-year-old tight end was a long shot to make an impact in the Broncos' offense anyway, and he could be a cut candidate in the future.
