Alex McGough: Headed to Green Bay
The Packers signed McGough to the practice squad Wednesday, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports.
McGough spent the entire 2023 regular season on the Packers' practice squad. He suffered multiple lower body injuries during the offseason, and after reverting to Green Bay's injured reserve in July, the two sides were able to reach an injury settlement that allowed McGough to explore his options once healthy. The 2018 seventh-round pick worked out with the Giants on Tuesday, but the former college quarterback will return to the Packers and continue to develop his skills as a wide receiver.

Alex McGough: Working out with Giants
The Giants worked out McGough (undisclosed) on Tuesday, Eric Edholm of NFL.com reports.
McGough was waived by Green Bay back in July with an undisclosed injury, but he's now evidently back in shape for football activities. The Giants are in quarterback disarray after the recent benching of Daniel Jones, and new starter Tommy DeVito may not exactly promise iron-clad stability as the second half of the season plays out.

Alex McGough: Joins Packers practice squad
McGough landed on the Packers' practice squad Wednesday.
McGough was competing with Sean Clifford for the backup role under center in Green Bay during training camp, but in reality he was a distant third most of the way. The Packers opted to go the traditional route with two quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, which resulted in McGough getting waived and subsequently landing on the practice squad. He will now continue to compete at practice and await an opportunity on the active roster should depth at the position ever be needed.
