Kennard Backman: Waived by Lions
Backman was waived by the Lions on Thursday.
Backman signed a future contract with the Lions back in January. He spent last season on Detroit's practice squad after being cut by the Packers during the preseason. He was near the bottom of the Lions' tight end depth chart and it was unlikely that he'd be able to make final roster for Week 1. He'll look to catch on with another team in 2017.
