  • Cowboys' Chuma Edoga: Officially placed on IR

Dallas placed Edoga (toe) on the reserve/injured list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Edoga injured his big toe in the Cowboys' preseason opener against the Rams. He'll now be forced to miss a minimum of four games, making Week 5 against the Steelers on Oct. 6 the earliest he can return. With Edoga on the shelf to begin the regular season, rookie first-round pick Tyler Guyton (knee) will start at left tackle and will be tasked with protecting Dak Prescott's blindside.

After sustaining a significant injury to his left big toe in Sunday's preseason game against the Rams, Edoga is expected to be placed on the Cowboys' reserve/injured list at the start of the regular season, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.

If Edoga goes on IR, he'll be forced to miss the first four games of the regular season, which puts his return date to Week 5 against Pittsburgh.
