Top Christian Kirk News

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Finds end zone in Sunday's loss

Kirk caught two of six targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 28-16 loss to the Patriots in the divisional round Sunday.

The veteran wideout couldn't repeat his massive performance from a wild-card win over the Steelers, but Kirk did hit paydirt for a second straight playoff game, hauling in a 10-yard toss from C.J. Stroud in the second quarter. Those two playoff TDs are more than he managed in the entire regular season, when he posted a disappointing 28-239-1 line on 52 targets over 13 games. Kirk will be a free agent in the offseason, and he'll likely be playing for his third team in three seasons in 2026.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: More volume on tap

Kirk is poised for a bigger role in the Texans' passing game Sunday at New England after No. 1 WR Nico Collins (concussion) was ruled out for the divisional-round contest.

Kirk was well on his way to a notable performance when Collins exited Monday's wild-card win in Pittsburgh due to a concussion in the third quarter. Having said that, Kirk was QB C.J. Stroud's favorite target for much of the game, with the wide receiver finishing with eight catches (on nine targets) for 144 yards and one touchdown on a 56 percent snap share. The playing time more or less was in line with his range from the regular season, but Kirk now will be vying with only Jayden Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel and potentially Braxton Berrios for the attention of Stroud this weekend.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Goes off for 8-144-1 in wild-card win

Kirk corralled eight of nine targets for 144 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 30-6 wild-card win over the Steelers.

Kirk led Houston in receiving by a healthy margin while top wideout Nico Collins exited Monday's win in the second half with a concussion. Even before Collins left the game, the 28-year-old Kirk was already on his way to a big performance after he cashed in on C.J. Stroud's only touchdown pass in the second quarter. Kirk was limited to a 28-239-1 receiving line in 13 appearances during the regular season, so his outburst in the first round of the playoffs was wholly unexpected. If Collins is unable to clear the league's concussion protocol by Sunday, Kirk will likely serve as Houston's top receiving threat in a divisional-round matchup with the Patriots.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: One catch in win

Kirk caught one of two targets for minus-3 yards in Sunday's 38-30 win over Indianapolis in Week 18.

Kirk had the third-most snaps (39) among Houston's wideouts, finishing behind Jayden Higgins (55) and Xavier Hutchinson (54) while Nico Collins was a healthy inactive. A charitable view of that usage might be that a playoff-bound Houston team was protecting a veteran they'll need in the postseason, but Kirk's marginalization began several weeks ago. He had the fourth-highest snap share at WR (44.7 percent) during the regular season but just 14 receptions on 28 targets over the final nine games, as he found himself competing with rookie Jaylin Noel for work in the slot.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Target leader in win

Kirk caught two of five targets for one yard in Saturday's 20-16 win over the Chargers in Week 17.

Kirk led the Texans in targets, but it didn't translate to meaningful production, and his 29 snaps the fourth most among the team's wideouts. His profile in the offense was minimized weeks ago, as rookie Jayden Higgins moved ahead of Kirk, who has been dogged by injuries in 2025. Houston's shift to a ball-control attack also played a role in minimizing Kirk's output. He has just 44 receiving yards over the last five games.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Re-emerges with 37 yards Sunday

Kirk (illness) had three receptions on five targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 23-21 win over Las Vegas.

Kirk overcame an illness during the practice week in order to suit up for Sunday's narrow victory over the lowly Raiders. The veteran wideout had seen his role reduced to dust in recent weeks, so it was an encouraging sign to see the slot extraordinaire reintegrated into the offense after recording just one catch over his last three appearances. Fantasy managers will still find it hard to trust Kirk in Week 17 given his recent struggles and low upside as part of Houston's ball-control offense.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Cleared to play vs. Las Vegas

Kirk (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Kirk was battling through an illness over the weekend, but the veteran wide receiver has progressed enough in his recovery to play in Sunday's home tilt. He has failed to record a target in two of his last three games and has accumulated 22 catches (on 40 targets) for 204 yards and one touchdown through 10 regular-season games. Based on recent usage, Kirk appears to have dropped to the No. 5 receiver spot behind Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson and rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Should be able to play through illness

Kirk (illness), who is officially questionable to face Las Vegas on Sunday, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Kirk came down with an illness Friday and had to miss practice. He was given a tag of questionable ahead of Sunday's Week 16 contest, but it sounds like he's improved enough to be able to suit up. With that said, it's unclear how big of a role Kirk will have in Houston's game plan, as the veteran wideout logged a season-low 24 percent offensive snap share against the Cardinals last Sunday.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Under the weather, iffy for Week 16

Kirk (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Kirk popped up on Friday's injury report as a DNP due to an illness. The team will monitor his recovery over the weekend to determine whether he can play, but his official status may not be known until the Texans announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. Kirk played just 16 snaps on offense Week 15 against the Cardinals while not recording a target, so a potential absence from him would lead to a small number of snaps being available for absorption for Xavier Hutchinson, Braxton Berrios (who has been a healthy scratch since Week 11) and rookie wideouts Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins.

  • Texans' Christian Kirk: Slide continues in win

Kirk was not targeted and played 16 snaps in Sunday's 40-20 win over the Cardinals in Week 15.

The snap count was a season low for Kirk, who went untargeted for the second time in three games. He now has one or zero catches in five of his last six contests. Rookie Jayden Higgins has emerged as the No. 2 wideout behind Nico Collins, leaving Kirk to compete with Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel for snaps and targets.
