Ryquell Armstead: Let go by Jaguars
Armstead was waived by the Jaguars on Monday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Armstead will look for another team after he spent the 2021 campaign on and off multiple practice squads. The running back has appeared in 18 career games -- all with the Jaguars -- turning 50 carries into 188 yards while also catching 17 passes for 160 yards and two scores. Given he has a serviceable body of work in the NFL, Armstead should be able to find another landing spot in the league.

Jaguars' Ryquell Armstead: Makes most of 11 touches
Armstead rushed the ball nine times for 52 yards in Sunday's 26-11 win over the Colts. He added two receptions for 10 yards.
Armstead was out-touched by Dare Ogunbowale 14-11, yet he managed to compile seven greater total yards. He did so largely on the strength of a 26-yard rush midway through the third quarter, which helped set up Jacksonville's final score of the game. Armstead has spent the final three weeks of the season with the team, though his role could be in question in 2022 with Travis Etienne (foot) likely to take over as the lead back and James Robinson (Achilles) also likely to have significant involvement if he proves to be healthy.

Jaguars' Ryquell Armstead: Seven touches Week 17
Armstead had six carries for 28 yards and caught one of two targets for six yards during Sunday's 50-10 loss to the Patriots.
The 2019 fifth-round pick saw his first game action since 2019 and averaged 4.9 yards per touch while operating as Jacksonville's No. 2 tailback behind Dare Ogunbowale. Armstead figures to fill a similar role in the season finale next week.

Armstead was selected by the Jaguars in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and rushed 35 times for 108 yards while securing 14 of 24 targets for 144 yards and two touchdowns. However, he missed the entire 2020 campaign due to complications from COVID-19. Carlos Hyde (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so Armstead will likely compete to serve as the No. 2 running back behind James Robinson.

Ryquell Armstead: Joins Green Bay
Armstead signed a deal with the Packers' practice squad on Thursday.
Armstead will join Green Bay as a result of the Packers placing Aaron Rodgers and Isaac Yiadom on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The running back will likely fill a depth role for Green Bay until the Packers reactivate Rodgers and Yiadom to their roster.
