Farniok (undisclosed) worked out for the Packers on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Farniok was waived from the reserve/PUP list by the Lions in July due to an undisclosed injury. His tryout in Green Bay would suggest the Nebraska product is healthy now, and the Packers may be looking to better their depth on the offensive line.

Detroit initially dropped Farniok on Wednesday with a failed physical examination, but the team then changed course and instead added him to the PUP list. It's still unclear what injury or health issue caused him to fail his physical, but the 26-year-old should now be free to join up with a new team ahead of the regular season.

Lions' Matt Farniok: Reverts to PUP list
The Lions placed Farniok (undisclosed) on the reserve/PUP list after he cleared waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Farniok was waived by Detroit on Tuesday but will now return to the team, albeit on the PUP list. The 2021 seventh-round pick will now be forced to sit out at least the first four games of the regular season.

Matt Farniok: Dropped by Detroit
The Lions waived Farniok (undisclosed) with a failed physical designation Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Farniok has spent the majority of his NFL career with the Cowboys, and his most recent in-game action came back in 2022. The Nebraska product's injury is currently unknown, but if he goes unclaimed on waivers, Farniok will revert back to Detroit's injured reserve list and miss the entire season unless an injury settlement is reached.

Cowboys' Matt Farniok: Back in action for OTAs
Farniok is participating in OTAs after recovering from a hamstring injury, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Farniok tore his hamstring during Week 7 last season and was placed on IR in late October. While the 2021 seventh-round pick was designated to return from IR in early January, he was never restored to the Cowboys' active roster before the end of the 2022 campaign. Farniok alternated first-team reps at left guard with veteran Chuma Edogo during last Friday's OTA session, as these two should compete for a starting role following the departure of guard Connor McGovern this offseason.

Cowboys' Matt Farniok: Designated to return from IR
Farniok (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday.
As expected, Farniok will make his return to practice this week after missing the last couple months while on IR with a hamstring issue. The team will now have a 21-day window to either activate the offensive lineman or leave him on IR for the remainder of the season. With Tyler Biadasz (ankle) unlikely to play in Week 18, it's possible that Farniok could take over at starting center for the Cowboys in their regular season finale Sunday versus the Commanders.

Cowboys' Matt Farniok: Set to return from IR in Week 18
Farniok (hamstring) will be designated to return from injured reserve Week 18 and is expected to begin practicing again Wednesday, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports reports.
Farniok landed on IR after he sustained a hamstring injury Week 7 versus Detroit. Once he is officially designated to return, the second-year offensive lineman will have a 21-day window to practice before he has to be restored to the active roster. Otherwise, he'll revert back to IR for the remainder of the 2022 campaign. With starting center Tyler Biadasz dealing with a high-ankle injury sustained in Thursday's win against Tennessee, Farniok could stand to see immediate playing time as soon as Week 18.
