Sam Schlueter: Let go by Minnesota
Schlueter (illness) was waived Wednesday with a non-football illness designation.
Schlueter went undrafted in 2022 and signed a deal with the 49ers before spending the last bit of the year on the Jets practice squad. He was a three-time All-Big Ten honorable mention throughout his collegiate career at Minnesota. The nature and extent of his illness are both currently unknown.

Sam Schlueter: Tries out with Jets
Schlueter worked out for the Jets on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Schlueter was last waived with an injury settlement from the 49ers' injured reserve list in August while he dealt with a knee injury, but his workout Tuesday suggests he's moved on from the issue. The 309-pounder now will wait for another opportunity to make an active roster.

Sam Schlueter: Let go from IR
The 49ers waived Schlueter (knee) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Schlueter reverted to San Francisco's IR upon clearing waivers with an unspecified knee injury last Thursday. The 25-year-old offensive tackle now will be free to join up with a new team this regular season, once he gets healthy.

Schlueter (knee) reverted to IR on Wednesday after clearing waivers, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Schlueter suffered the injury during the 49ers' preseason contest against the Vikings on Saturday. The move to IR will end the rookie's season early, unless he is able to reach an injury settlement with the team.
