Josh Sills: Cut loose by Colts
Sills (ankle) was waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Sills injured his ankle in Saturday's preseason game against Arizona. He was waived by Indianapolis on Monday and reverted to injured reserve a day later. Since he's reached an injury settlement with the Colts, he'll be free to find a new organization once healthy.

Colts' Josh Sills: Reverts to injured reserve
Sills (ankle) reverted to the Colts' injured reserve Tuesday after clearing waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Sills was waived by the Colts on Monday after sustaining an ankle injury in Saturday's preseason contest against the Cardinals. Sills will now be forced to miss the entire 2024 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Indianapolis.

Josh Sills: Dropped by Indianapolis
The Colts waived Sills (ankle) with an injury designation Monday.
Sills picked up an ankle injury in the Colts' preseason game against the Cardinals on Saturday, and it appears that injury was enough for Indianapolis to move on from the Oklahoma State product. If Sills clears waivers, he'll revert to the Colts' injured reserve list and miss all of 2024 unless the two parties reach an injury settlement at some point this season.

Colts' Josh Sills: Ruled out Saturday
Sills (ankle) won't return to Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
Sills hurt his ankle in the first quarter, and though he was later spotted running on the sidelines, he won't return to the exhibition game. The offensive guard is competing for a spot on the Colts' 53-man roster, so it could be critical for him to return to health in time for the team's final preseason contest Thursday versus Cincinnati.

Colts' Josh Sills: Hurts ankle in preseason game
Sills suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's exhibition contest against Arizona and has been deemed questionable to return, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.
Sills was injured in the first period and isn't certain to return, though Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports that the offensive lineman was up and running on the sideline between quarters. Sills is competing for a spot on the 53-man roster as depth at the offensive guard position.

Eagles' Josh Sills: Back on 90-man roster
The NFL removed Sills from the commissioner's exempt list Friday.
Sills had been on the list since Feb. 1, when allegations of rape and kidnapping emerged. After he was found not guilty of those charges in an Ohio court Friday, the NFL has moved to get Sills back on the Eagles' 90-man roster. As an undrafted rookie last season, he was a healthy scratch most weeks but did log four special-teams snaps in his sole appearance.

Eagles' Josh Sills: Indicted on first-degree felonies
Sills was indicted Wednesday by a Guernsey County (Ohio) Common Pleas Court grand jury on one count of alleged rape and one count of alleged kidnapping, both of which are first-degree felonies, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Per a release posted on the Ohio attorney general's website, the incident in question occurred in December 2019, when the victim reported the allegations and an investigation commenced. Sills has been summoned to appear in court Feb. 16, four days after the Eagles are set to play in Super Bowl LVII. Sills signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in April and appeared in only one game this season.

Eagles' Josh Sills: Goes on commissioner's exempt list
The NFL placed Sills on the commissioner's exempt list Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Sills was indicted Wednesday on allegations of rape and kidnapping by a Guernsey County (Ohio) Common Pleas Court grand jury following a December 2019 incident. A court date has been set for Feb. 16, so this transaction by the NFL means Sills, an undrafted rookie offensive lineman, won't be able to practice ahead of or travel with the Eagles for Super Bowl LVII against the Chiefs on Feb. 12. Currently, the matter is slated for review under the NFL's personal conduct policy, but any sort of punishment is unlikely to be levied by the league until the legal process plays itself out.
