Hamlin (back) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions.
The starting safety practiced in full Wednesday before missing Thursday's session. Hamlin has 83 tackles (58 solo), five pass breakups, including two interceptions, and a fumble recovery on the year. With Hamlin and Taylor Rapp (neck/shoulder) both out, Kareem Jackson and Cole Bishop are the next men up at safety for the Bills on Sunday.

Bills' Damar Hamlin: Questionable for Week 15
Hamlin (back) is questionable for Sunday's game versus Detroit.
Additionally, fellow starting safety Taylor Rapp (neck/shoulder) is also questionable, and starting CB Rasul Douglas (knee) was ruled out. Hamlin picked up the back injury in the middle of the practice week, downgrading from a full practice Wednesday to DNP on Thursday. Cole Bishop and Micah Hyde are next up for snaps at safety.

Hamlin (back) did not participate in Thursday's walkthrough practice.
Hamlin was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday, so his lack of activity Thursday could represent either a setback relating to his back injury or simply a veteran day of rest. Friday's practice report will be telling as to Hamlin's chances of suiting up for Sunday's key road matchup against Detroit.

Hamlin finished with 13 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 44-42 loss to the Rams.
Sunday marked the third game this season in which the safety recorded double-digit stops. Hamlin has 83 tackles (58 solo), five passes defensed, including two interceptions, and a fumble recovery this season. He has also played on more than 700 defensive snaps after playing on just 16 a year ago as he recovered from a cardiac episode on the field near the end of the 2022 campaign.

Bills' Damar Hamlin: Impresses in Week 9
Hamlin recorded 10 total tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Dolphins.
Hamlin was one of three Bills to finish with double-digit stops in Sunday's win, tying Taylor Rapp as the team's second-leading tackler. The fourth-year pro has now accumulated 57 total tackles and five passes defended, including two interceptions, through Buffalo's first nine games. Expect the Bills' top safety duo of Hamlin and Rapp to continue causing problems for opposing offenses as the season progresses.

Bills' Damar Hamlin: Another solid outing Sunday
Hamlin recorded five total tackles (three solo) and defended one pass in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Titans.
Hamlin is now the second-leading tackler on the Bills' defense through the team's first seven games with 43 total stops. The Pittsburgh product also leads Buffalo in passes defended (five) and is tied for the lead in interceptions (two) with Ja'Marcus Ingram. Expect Hamlin to continue building on an impressive start to his 2024 campaign as the Bills travel to Seattle in Week 8.
