Top Rashid Shaheed News

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Kicks off rout of 49ers

Shaheed did not record a catch on two targets in Saturday's 41-6 divisional-round win over the 49ers. He added two rushes for 27 yards and two kick returns for 126 yards and a touchdown.

Shaheed remained a non-factor in Seattle's passing game, though he still made a major impact in the team's blowout win. He returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown to set off the rout and also chipped in with a 30-yard gain on an end-around late in the second quarter to help set up an additional score. Shaheed looks likely to remain in more of a gadget role in the NFC Championship Game, but he serves in a key role for the Seahawks.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Mild impact in crucial win

Shaheed caught his lone target for two yards in Saturday's 13-3 win over the 49ers. He returned one kick for 34 yards and two punts for 30 yards.

Shaheed cleared concussion protocol in just six days, and he managed to handle a 46 percent snap share in the win. However, Shaheed didn't draw Sam Darnold's attention much. He has just two catches (three targets) for 10 yards over the last three weeks, and he has recorded more than eight receiving yards just three times through nine games with the Seahawks. It's tough to pinpoint when Shaheed will break off a big play, making him a frustrating fantasy option. His next chance to play will be in the NFC divisional round.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Ready for Week 18

Shaheed (concussion) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's game in San Francisco, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Shaheed was forced out in the first quarter of this past Sunday's win at Carolina due to a concussion, but he's made quick work through the protocol for head injuries in the meantime, following up Tuesday's limited walkthrough with back-to-back full sessions. Now the he's confirmed to be available for Week 18, he'll look to build upon the 14-186-0 line on 25 targets that he's managed in eight contests since he joined the Seahawks at the trade deadline.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Full practice Wednesday

Shaheed (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

Shaheed made an early exit from this past Sunday's win at Carolina with a concussion, but his progression from a limited walkthrough Tuesday to all on-field activity one day later may mean he's on the doorstep of clearing the protocol for head injuries. Still, with an NFC West showdown on tap Saturday at San Francisco, he'll need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to have a chance for Week 18 action.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Deemed limited in walkthrough

Shaheed (concussion) was estimated as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice walkthrough, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Shaheed suffered a concussion in the first quarter of Sunday's win over Carolina and is now in the league's five-step protocol. It's at least a promising sign that he was estimated as limited rather than DNP on Tuesday, though Seattle only held a walkthrough. Shaheed will need to clear the protocol to be eligible to play in Saturday's clash against San Francisco that will determine the No. 1 playoff seed in the NFC. Should Shaheed not be able to play, Jake Bobo and Dareke Young could see more targets on offense, with Young and Cam Akers options to take on kick returns duties.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Status up in air for Week 18

Coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that it "seems like it's going well" with Shaheed in regards to the concussion the wide receiver suffered Sunday at Carolina, but the Seahawks won't know if he can progress enough in the protocol for head injuries to put himself in a position to play until later this week, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.

The Seahawks have a short week to prepare for Saturday's NFC West showdown at San Francisco, so Shaheed would seem hard-pressed to make it all the way through the concussion protocol and play Week 18. In any case, how he's listed on Seattle's practice reports Tuesday through Thursday may shed light on his odds to suit up. With Cody White (groin) also banged-up in the wake of Week 17 action, the team currently has just four healthy wide receivers (Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Jake Bobo and Dareke Young) on the active roster.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Concussion confirmed

Shaheed has been diagnosed with a concussion and won't return to Sunday's game at Carolina, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Shaheed was slammed to the turf out of bounds at the end of his eight-yard catch near the end of the first quarter and was slow to get up. He was evaluated for a possible head injury, which now has been confirmed. With Shaheed out for the rest of Week 17 and Cody White also exiting due to a groin injury, Cooper Kupp, Dareke Young and Jake Bobo currently are the healthy WRs available to Seattle's offense that aren't named Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

  • Seahawks' Rashid Shaheed: Evaluated for possible concussion

Shaheed is being evaluated for a concussion and is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Shaheed will be ineligible to return to action Sunday if he is indeed diagnosed with a concussion and placed into the NFL's five-step recovery protocol. While Shaheed is sidelined, Dareke Young and Jake Bobo will handle increased roles on offense and in the return game.
