  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Catches one pass Sunday

Fant caught one of three targets in Sunday's 23-20 overtime win versus the Patriots. It was another underwhelming performance by Fant, as he has produced just 25 receiving yards despite Geno Smith throwing for 498 yards through two games. Fant is still playing plenty of snaps, as he handled an 80 percent share in Week 2. However, it appears Fant's role hasn't improved much in the Seahawks' new system.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Logs full practice Thursday

Fant (toe) practiced fully Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. After opening Week 1 prep with a pair of limited practices, Fant avoided a designation entirely for this past Sunday's game versus the Broncos, turning a 75 percent snap share into two catches (on four targets) for 11 yards. He should retain a similar workload this Sunday in New England, but production may be difficult to come by in an receiving corps led by WRs DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Stays limited to start week

Fant (toe) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Fant is beginning this week as he did preparations for Week 1 with a capped session. If he follows a similar path this time around, he'll be limited Thursday and a full participant Friday before going into the weekend without a designation. Fant handled a 75 percent share of the offensive snaps this past Sunday against the Broncos on his way to two catches (on four targets) for 11 yards.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Totals 11 yards against former team

Fant caught two of four targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Broncos. While it was a difficult outing for Fant individually, the Seahawks struggled in the air overall, totaling just 171 yards. He's the clear No. 1 tight end, but he's probably fourth in the pecking order when it comes to targets, sitting behind WRs DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Fant will look to bounce back Week 2 against the Patriots.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Sleeper TEs

Fant was removed from the injury report Friday despite dealing with a toe injury, and hopefully, he's ready to go in this revenge game against the Broncos. It's a great matchup since Denver was No. 1 last season in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and we just have to see if Fant will get enough targets in a crowded receiving corps with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. But given the matchup, I would take a chance on Fant as a flier in deeper leagues in Week 1.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Good to go for Week 1

Fant (toe) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Fant began the week with back-to-back limited practices, but the toe injury he spent most of August dealing with won't impact his Week 1 availability. With backup tight end Pharaoh Brown (foot) ruled out to face Denver, Fant could be in line for slightly more opportunities than usual as Seattle's top TE.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Another limited showing

Fant (toe) was limited at practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. With back-to-back capped sessions to begin Week 1 prep due to a toe injury that has lingered for almost one month, Fant has just one more chance to get back to all activity before the Seahawks potentially give him a designation for Sunday's game versus the Broncos. Meanwhile, fellow TE Pharaoh Brown (foot) hasn't practiced this week, which has left Brady Russell and AJ Barner as the healthy players at the position on the team's active roster.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Limited by toe issue

Fant practiced on a limited basis Wednesday due to a toe injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Since Fant suffered an apparent foot issue during an Aug. 7 practice, head coach Mike Macdonald was mum on the nature of the tight end's health concern, merely expressing optimism that Fant will be available Week 1. Now that the injury is known, Fant will have two more days to prove his health before the Seahawks potentially give him a designation before Sunday's contest against the Broncos. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Pharaoh Brown (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, which could open the door for a few more targets for Fant this weekend, assuming the latter is active and the former is limited or sidelined.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Week 1 Streamers (TE Preview)

Fant has been banged up this preseason, but he is expected to play. He has a revenge game against a Broncos defense that gave up the most points to opposing tight ends last year. He also has a new offensive coordinator who I expect will focus the team's tight end targets more singularly than Shane Waldron did in the past.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Present for warmups

Fant (foot) was suited up for warmups ahead of Monday's practice, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports. Fant hasn't practiced since Aug. 6 due to a foot injury, and it's unclear if he'll participate in drills Monday as the Seahawks ramp up for a Week 1 matchup with the Broncos. The Seahawks' first practice report of the season will be posted Wednesday in advance of Sunday's game, so how he's listed there may indicate where he's at in his recovery.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Optimism for Week 1

Coach Mike Macdonald noted Thursday that the Seahawks are optimistic both Fant (foot) and Pharaoh Brown (foot) will be available for the team's regular-season opener, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Macdonald's comments Thursday effectively confirm that Fant won't play in the team's preseason finale against the Browns on Saturday, but it looks like the Seahawks could have both of their top tight ends available for Week 1 action. Added context on that front will arrive no later than the first official practice/injury report the team releases in advance of a Sept. 8 matchup against the Broncos.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: To resume practicing next week

Fant (foot) likely will return to practice next week, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Fant made an early exit from Tuesday's practice session due to a foot injury, which presumably will keep him out for Saturday's preseason game at the Chargers. With Fant sidelined this weekend, Pharaoh Brown, Tyler Mabry and Brady Russell are next up for TE reps in the Seahawks offense.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Exits practice early

Fant left Tuesday's practice with an apparent foot injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Fant reportedly left midway through practice and didn't return. Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald didn't speak with the media after the session to provide an update, so the nature and severity of Fant's injury aren't yet fully known. The 26-year-old is positioned for a larger role than he had in 2023, as fellow tight ends Colby Parkinson and Will Dissly signed with other teams this offseason, while Fant re-signed with Seattle on a two-year, $21 million deal.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Staying in Seattle

Fant (hand) agreed to terms on a two-year, $21 million contract with the Seahawks on Monday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports. Fant, a 2019 first-round pick for the Broncos, has accumulated 2,805 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns across his first five seasons. He's coming off a disappointing contract year with Seattle that saw him record 414 yards and no touchdowns on 32 receptions across 17 games. However, the 26-year-old showed enough for the team to continue believing in him as a top option at tight end, which he currently projects to be entering the 2024 campaign due to the departures of both Will Dissly (Chargers) and Colby Parkinson (Rams) in free agency.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Tough sledding in contract year

Fant recorded 32 receptions for 414 yards and no touchdowns across 17 games during the 2023 regular season. Fant played out the fifth year of his rookie contract, en route to posting career lows in receptions, yards and touchdowns. The 26-year-old tight end, who surpassed 50 yards just twice this season, suffered a hand injury in the Seahawks' season finale. It shouldn't be a long-term issue or affect his value as a free agent in March, but the market may be softened for Fant based on his downturn in production in 2023.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Hauls in five passes Sunday

Fant secured five of six targets for 59 yards during Sunday's 30-23 defeat to the Steelers. One week removed from failing to record a catch for the third time in 15 contests on the campaign, Fant recorded season bests in catches and targets while posting his second-highest yardage tally. Sunday's outing also marked the first time he surpassed 50 receiving yards in a game since Week 4. As a result, Fant likely will be hard-pressed to produce Week 18 on the road versus the Cardinals.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Gets back to full participation

Fant (knee) practiced in full Thursday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Fant didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough, but his return to all activity one day later indicates the tight end likely was given a maintenance day to kick off Week 17 prep. He'll thus retain his role as the Seahawks' No. 1 tight end Sunday versus the Steelers, which hasn't yielded much in terms of production (27-355-0 on 37 targets in 15 games) this season.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Tending to knee issue

Fant (knee) was a non-participant at Wednesday's walkthrough, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Since going without a target back in Week 1, Fant's number of looks ranged from between one and five in the Seahawks' next 13 games before again getting blanked this past Sunday's win over Tennessee. Overall, he's produced a modest 27-355-0 receiving line on 37 targets through 15 contests, but his lack of activity to kick off Week 17 prep now places a cloud over his upcoming availability. Still, Fant has two more chances this week to put himself in a position to play Sunday against the Steelers.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Not targeted against Titans

Fant failed to draw a single target in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Titans. Fant dominated the offensive snap share at tight end, playing 76 percent of the Seahawks' snaps Sunday. Meanwhile, fellow tight ends Colby Parkinson and Will Dissly saw snap shares of 37 and 26 percent, respectively. Despite seeing the second-most playing time among the position group, Parkinson was the most involved in the passing attack, catching three of four targets for 17 yards and a touchdown.

  • Seahawks' Noah Fant: Targeted five times in win

Fant caught three of five targets for 16 yards in Monday's 20-17 win over the Eagles. Drew Lock got the start at quarterback for the Seahawks, and Fant has a history with the signal caller dating back to their days in Denver. In turn, Fant received a season-high five targets, although that didn't translate into much production. It's unclear whether Geno Smith will be back in Week 16, but regardless, it will be tough to trust Fant given that he's averaging 25.3 yards per game with no touchdowns.
