Ethan Fernea: Reaches injury settlement
Indianapolis waived Fernea (undisclosed) from its injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Fernea appeared in the Colts' preseason opener against the Broncos, catching his lone target for 18 yards while playing 19 snaps (16 on offense, three on special teams). He was waived by Indianapolis on Wednesday and reverted to the Colts' IR after going unclaimed off waivers. Fernea was set to miss the entire 2024 season, but with the injury settlement, he will be able to sign with another team once he's fully healthy.

Fernea (undisclosed) reverted to the Colts' injured reserve Thursday after going unclaimed on waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The wide receiver now has to reach an injury settlement with the Colts to have a chance to play in 2024. Fernea appeared in three games and on two offensive snaps for Indianapolis in 2023 but did not catch a pass.

Fernea saw action in one game with the Colts last season and then re-signed with the team in January on a reserve/future deal. He was placed on injured reserve Saturday, which would have put him out for the season had he not reached an injury settlement. Now he'll be able to find an opportunity with a new team once he can prove himself healthy.
