Blankenship made eight tackles (six solo) in Monday's overtime loss to the Chargers.
Blankenship was one of four Philadelphia players to finish with exactly eight tackles in the tough loss. The fourth-year safety has produced at least eight stops in three straight games after failing to do so in any of his first 10 contests of the campaign. Blankenship's surge has pushed him up to 72 tackles through 13 games -- he notched 78 stops in 15 regular-season contests last year.

Blankenship led the Eagles in stops while recording easily his highest mark of the season. His previous campaign-best mark was eight tackles last week against Dallas, and Friday marked his first regular-season performance of double-digit stops since Week 11 of last year. Per Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio indicated Tuesday that he expects Blankenship to be available for Friday's game against the Bears, and the latter's ability to open the week with a limited practice session indicates that the injury isn't considered a serious one. Blankenship will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury designation ahead of Friday's contest.

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Tuesday that he expects Blankenship (thigh) to play Friday against the Bears, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Blankenship was injured in last Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and was walking with a pretty significant limp following his exit, but it sounds like he avoided a major injury. Blankenship was in the midst of a big performance prior to getting hurt, totaling eight tackles and an interception. Sydney Brown has entered the game in Blankenship's stead.

Blankenship's seven stops set a season-high mark.
