Amari Rodgers: Cut by Colts
Indianapolis waived Rodgers on Friday.
Rodgers logged a season-high 20 offensive snaps Week 6 versus Jacksonville, but he saw only two targets and didn't bring in either one. Those were the only two targets the wideout was gotten over three contests on the campaign. The Colts claimed cornerback Ameer Speed off waivers from New England in a move corresponding with Rodgers' departure.

Colts' Amari Rodgers: Increased role
Rodgers was targeted twice in the passing game but had no receptions in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.
Rodgers played on 20 of the offense's 78 snaps as he got more plaing time with Alec Pierce suffering a shoulder injury. Rodgers had played just five snaps on offense this season before Sunday. If Pierce is to miss time, it may be Isaiah McKenzie who gets a larger role since he's been more productive as a pass catcher (two receptions Sunday while playing just four snaps on offense), but Rodgers was the player working more as the third and fourth receiver Sunday.

Colts' Amari Rodgers: Joins Indianapolis roster
Indianapolis signed Rodgers off its practice squad Tuesday.
Rodgers played just four snaps in his 2023 debut Sunday, but the Colts evidently saw enough to promote him to the active roster with Ashton Dulin (knee) on injured reserve. Rookie third-rounder Josh Downs has struggled a bit to find his footing out of the slot up to this point, so Rodgers may be closer to the field than it appears.

Amari Rodgers: Reverts to practice squad

Colts' Amari Rodgers: Elevated to active roster
The Colts elevated Rodgers to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Rodgers' elevation is his first of the season. He projects to provide depth at receiver while also chipping in on special teams. It will be his first time suiting up since last season's stint with the Texans.

Amari Rodgers: Back in Indy
The Colts signed Rodgers to the practice squad Wednesday.
Rogers was once a well-regarded prospect but has had trouble finding his footing in the NFL. He did appear in 16 games in 2022, tallying 16 receptions for 204 yards and one touchdown split between the Packers and Texans. He could have landed in the right spot to have a chance to contribute, as the Colts currently have only four healthy receivers on their depth chart.

Amari Rodgers: Won't make team
Rodgers was waived by the Colts on Tuesday, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Rodgers' difficulties with catching on with a club since being selected in the third round of the 2021 Draft by the Packers will continue. The Clemson product joined the team in early August after being let go by the Texans. The 23-year-old secured 12 of 17 targets for 154 yards and a touchdown for Houston last season in six contests, while catching four of eight targets for 50 yards in 10 contests with Green Bay during the 2022 campaign.

Colts' Amari Rodgers: Picked up by Indianapolis
Rodgers agreed to terms with the Colts on Wednesday.
The 2021 third-round pick has found his third home in two years after being waived by both the Packers and Texans. Rodgers has tallied 20 receptions for 249 yards and one touchdown in his career, but he's mainly been a return man, as he's recorded 626 return yards. He's had issues holding onto the ball, fumbling eight times in just two years, but expect Indianapolis' newest receiver to compete for the kick and punt returner job ahead of the coming season.

Amari Rodgers: Gets cut loose
Rodgers was waived by the Texans on Sunday.
Rodgers saw action in six contests for Houston last season, after being waived by the Packers midseason. He finished his time with the Texans having caught 12 of 17 targets for 154 yards and a touchdown. A third-round selection out of Clemson in 2021, Rodgers has yet to carve out a steady role for himself in two seasons. He'll now work to earn an opportunity elsewhere.

Texans' Amari Rodgers: Sets himself up for 2023
Rodgers caught three of four targets for 22 yards in a 32-31 victory over Indianapolis in Week 18.
Rodgers was given an opportunity due to a late-season injury to Nico Collins (foot) and likely played his way into the 2023 mix at wideout. Rodgers caught 12 of 17 targets for 154 yards and a touchdown over the final five games. The Texans will be hiring a new head coach and probably a new offensive coordinator, so personnel decisions are up in the air, but Rodgers has two years left on his contract. If the organization parts with Brandin Cooks, there could be a starting spot available for a wide receiver. The downside for fantasy speculators is this will be another rebuilding year in Houston with new coaches and a new quarterback.
