Eagles' Andre' Sam: Reverts to IR
Sam (foot) reverted to the Eagles' injured-reserve list Monday, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports.
The Eagles waived Sam with an injury designation Sunday after he suffered a foot injury during Friday's preseason finale against the Bengals. The safety cleared waivers and will now spend the entirety of the 2026 regular season on IR unless he is waived with an injury designation.

Sam suffered a left foot injury during the Eagles' preseason finale against the Bengals on Friday. If the 27-year-old clears waivers, he'll revert to injured reserve with Philadelphia.

Eagles' Andre' Sam: Injures left foot Friday
Sam injured his left foot during the Eagles' 30-13 preseason loss to the Bengals on Friday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
Sam was having a strong game on both defense and special teams before sustaining the injury late in the third quarter, and the injury was severe enough for him to be carted off the field. He was spotted after the game with a brace on his left foot, and he'll undergo more tests to determine the severity of the injury and a recovery timeline. Sam finished Friday's exhibition game with three tackles (one solo), one pass defense and two fumble recoveries.

Eagles' Andre' Sam: Could see more reps
Sam could be in line for increased practice reps as Philadelphia deals with multiple injuries in its safety room.
A few Eagles safeties are currently nursing health issues, including C.J. Gardner-Johnson (shoulder), Sydney Brown (knee), Mekhi Garner (hamstring) and Caden Sterns (knee). If they remain sidelined, Sam could get more opportunities to impress his coaches during drills. Even still, he's a longshot to make the final 53-man roster for 2024.
