Russell underwent hand surgery the day after Seattle's 31-27 NFC Championship win over the Rams, Brady Henderson of ESPN reports.
Russell managed to play through his injury during the Seahawks' Super Bowl win over the Patriots, when he led the team in special-teams snaps. The 27-year-old will have the offseason to get back to full health before the start of the 2026 campaign.

Seahawks' Brady Russell: Full go in practice
Russell (hand) was a full participant in Seattle's practice Wednesday, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic.
Russell was a limited participant in practice throughout last week after suffering a hand injury during the NFC Championship Game but is seemingly healthy again. With Robbie Ouzts still battling a neck injury, Russell could be in line to serve as the team's top fullback in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Seahawks' Brady Russell: Dealing with hand injury
Head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Russell suffered a hand injury during Sunday's 31-27 win over the Rams in the NFC Championship Game, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Russell worked as Seattle's fullback in the NFC Championship Game due to the absence of Robbie Ouzts (neck). Both fullbacks will aim to recover ahead of super Bowl LX against the Patriots on Feb. 8.

Seahawks' Brady Russell: Limited to special teams in Week 17
Russell played all 19 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Panthers.
For the second week in a row, the Seahawks kept two fullbacks active in Russell and Robbie Ouzts, but only the latter player saw action on offense (14 snaps). Russell has suited up for all 16 of the Seahawks' games to date but hasn't logged a carry or target while playing 54 total snaps on offense. He's been a core member of Seattle's special-teams units, where he's tallied 14 tackles (10 solo).
