Malik Cunningham: Joins Baltimore's practice squad
The Ravens signed Cunningham to their practice squad Wednesday, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The former quarterback turned wide receiver had an impressive offseason in Baltimore, so it's no surprise that he's been brought back to the team's practice squad after failing to make the initial 53-man roster. Cunningham appeared in two regular-season games last season with the Ravens and Patriots, recording no stats while playing just 10 total snaps.

Malik Cunningham: Waived by Baltimore
Cunningham was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Cunningham made the switch from quarterback to wideout in the offseason but was unable to land a spot on the Ravens' depth chart at his new position. The former quarterback initially signed with Baltimore last December off the New England practice squad.

Ravens' Malik Cunningham: Logging impressive offseason
Cunningham has been one of Baltimore's standouts throughout OTAs and minicamp, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.
Cunningham made the switch to wideout this spring, with coach John Harbaugh calling him "kind of a natural at the position." Harbaugh also noted that because of Cunningham's experience at quarterback, he has a good understanding of the passing game from that perspective. The second-year pro will compete for a depth role in a relatively thin Ravens wide receiver room, as well as potentially contribute in the return game.

Ravens' Malik Cunningham: Makes switch to wideout
Baltimore officially listed Cunningham as a wide receiver during OTAs, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Cunningham has gotten reps at wide receiver since the Ravens brought him on board back in December, and his transition to the new position (from quarterback) is now officially complete. He's part of a relatively thin wide receiver room, so he could very well find his way onto Baltimore's final 2024 roster if he impresses during training camp.

Cunningham was claimed off waivers by the Ravens earlier in the month, but he has yet to suit up. While he is the fourth quarterback on the depth chart, the versatile player was also expected to practice with the wide receiver group. His next chance to debut with the team will come in the regular-season finale next week versus the Steelers.

Ravens' Malik Cunningham: Will get reps at QB, WR
Head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Baltimore's signing of Cunningham was a move for the future, and the rookie will practice with the team as a quarterback and wide receiver, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
Cunningham will be the team's fourth quarterback on the active roster after they signed him off the Patriots' practice squad Tuesday. While all of Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley and Josh Johnson are healthy and available, Cunningham's likeliest path to playing time in the short term is at receiver, or as a gadget player on offense. in a corresponding move, the Ravens placed wideout/return man Devin Duvernay (back) on injured reserve.

Ravens' Malik Cunningham: Nabbed by Baltimore
The Ravens will sign Cunningham off the Patriots' practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
In Baltimore, the undrafted rookie will reunite with Lamar Jackson, a college teammate of his at Louisville during the 2017 season. Though not nearly as adept as Jackson as a passer or runner, Cunningham still possesses a dual-threat skill set that should allow the Ravens to keep their usual game plan in place if Jackson is to miss time at any point. Cunningham will initially slot behind Jackson and two other dual-threat signal-callers in Tyler Huntley and Josh Johnson on the depth chart, though it wouldn't be surprising if the Ravens waived the 37-year-old Johnson in the near future to allow Cunningham to move up to third in the pecking order.

Cunningham was elevated to the team's active roster ahead of Thursday's 21-18 win over the Steelers but didn't see any action in the contest. The versatile quarterback/receiver remains a candidate for promotion in the coming weeks, but New England's quarterback situation may have stabilized, at least temporarily, after Bailey Zappe completed 19 of 28 pass attempts for 240 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the win over Pittsburgh.

Cunningham has been elevated to the Patriots' active roster from the practice squad ahead of Thursday's game against the Steelers, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports.
Cunningham also was elevated in advance of this past Sunday's 6-0 loss to Chargers but didn't see any action in the contest. This time around, Cunningham is available to provide the Patriots with depth at quarterback and wide receiver and could log some snaps versus Pittsburgh on designed plays behind projected starting signal-caller Bailey Zappe.
