Top Jonathan Taylor News

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Inefficient in Week 11 win

Taylor rushed 24 times for 57 yards and caught one of two targets for three yards in Sunday's 28-27 win over the Jets.

Taylor was surprisingly quiet in the victory, posting his third-lowest rushing yardage total of the season despite setting a season high in rushing attempts. Anthony Richardson scored two short rushing touchdowns in the quarterback's return to the starting role, while Taylor was kept out of the end zone for the third consecutive game after running in five touchdowns in his first five appearances of the season. Getting back on track won't be easy for Taylor in Week 12 against the stout Lions front, especially given the high probability of the Colts falling behind and having to go with a more pass-heavy approach.

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Over 100 total yards in loss

Taylor rushed 21 times for 114 yards and secured two of four targets for eight yards in the Colts' 30-20 loss to the Bills on Sunday.

Taylor was the only Colts running back to log a carry and helped his final total significantly with a 58-yard run in the latter portion of the first quarter. Taylor exceeded 100 yards on the ground for the second time in the last three games and fourth time overall on the season, and he now has multiple receptions in three of the past four contests as well. Taylor should remain very busy in a Week 11 road matchup against an inconsistent Jets run defense.

  • Colts' Jonathan Taylor: Quiet in Flacco-led offense

Taylor rushed 13 times for 48 yards while catching three of five targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 21-13 loss to the Vikings.

Taylor had rushed for at least 88 yards in each of his previous four appearances, but this performance was more similar to his disappointing 48-yard Week 1 outing against the Texans, though he at least found the end zone in that one. It's a bit worrying that this subpar outing coincided with Taylor's first game started alongside Joe Flacco at quarterback. The threat of Anthony Richardson using his legs may have helped open up additional running lanes for Taylor, but Taylor's unlikely to go into a prolonged slump while Richardson is benched given the star running back's track record of success when healthy. Taylor will look to bounce back in Week 10 against a Bills defense that has struggled to defend running backs.
