Colts' Matt Gay: Misses in return
Gay made his only extra-point try but failed to convert one of his two field goal attempts in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Packers.
Gay missed Week 1 as he recovered from sports hernia surgery. His return in Week 2 didn't go as planned, as he missed a 50-yard FGA in the loss Sunday. He did, however, connect on a 34-yard attempt to make the score 13-3 before halftime. Gay's next opportunity will come in Week 3 against the Bears.

Gay sat out the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Texans while recovering from sports hernia surgery, but head coach Shane Steichen confirmed Wednesday that the kicker is "good to go" for Sunday's road matchup in Green Bay, per George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin. Gay is expected to return to practice Wednesday after being out of action since undergoing surgery, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Gay wasn't able to play in the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Texans while he recovered from the sports hernia procedure he underwent shortly after Indianapolis' preseason finale, but the veteran kicker looks like he could move past the issue soon. The Colts will monitor Gay's activity in practice this week before determining his availability for Sunday's game in Green Bay, but if he's unable to kick this weekend, Indianapolis would likely elevate Spencer Shrader from the practice squad once again. Shrader converted all three of his extra-point attempts in Sunday's 29-27 loss to Houston.

Gay has been in recovery mode since undergoing surgery on a sports hernia following Indianapolis' last preseason game Aug. 22. He didn't practice at all this week, but the team still is giving him a chance to serve as its placekicker Sunday. Gay missed field-goal attempts from 56 and 44 yards in Saturday's preseason win over Arizona. He converted all three extra-point attempts.
Gay is just 1-for-4 in field-goal attempts in two preseason games, also missing a 36-yard attempt in the first exhibition. His only make is from 26 yards. We wouldn't be too worried about a miss longer than 50 yards, but Gay signed one of the largest contracts in the league for a kicker (four-year, $22.5 million deal) to be more reliable than he's shown in the preseason.

Colts' Matt Gay: Misses one in loss
Gay made three of four field-goal attempts in Saturday's 23-19 loss to the Texans.
Gay's lone miss came from 57 yards out and although it had the distance, hit the right upright and failed to go through. However, he was successful in the contest from 52, 38 and 35 yards, but the Colts ultimately suffered a season-ending loss. The Utah product made a career-high 33 field goals this year, including eight from 50 yards and beyond, which was also a career best. On the other hand, Gay's 80 percent conversion rate was his lowest since his rookie campaign. The 29-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Colts last offseason and will likely remain the team's kicker in what could be a formidable offense next year.
