  • Kevin Rader: Dropped by Saints

The Saints released Rader (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Rader was set to miss all of the 2024 season after landing on IR with an undisclosed injury in late August, but the Youngstown State product reached an injury settlement with the Saints on Monday that allows him to sign elsewhere once he's fully recovered from his injury.

  • Saints' Kevin Rader: Placed on IR

Rader (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Saints on Tuesday. Rader is now set to miss the entirety of the 2024 season while nursing an undisclosed injury that he suffered during the preseason. If the tight end reaches an injury settlement with New Orleans, he'll be free to sign and play elsewhere. Otherwise, he'll now shift his focus to being ready to go for 2025.

  • Saints' Kevin Rader: Getting deal from New Orleans

The Saints are set to sign Rader, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Rader played in 14 regular-season games with Tennessee last season, logging one catch (on three targets) for six yards over 140 offensive snaps. The tight end out of Youngstown State also logged 219 snaps on special teams. Rader will compete for a depth role with the Saints among a tight-end group that is headed by Juwan Johnson (foot), Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau. New Orleans also signed Mason Fairchild -- another tight end -- on Friday.

His official move to the active roster comes as fellow tight end Josh Whyle continues to deal with an ankle injury.

  • Kevin Rader: Heads back to practice squad

Rader reverted to the Titans' practice squad Monday. Rader was able to get some additional snaps -- nine offensive and 13 on special teams -- when Josh Whyle was ruled out of Sunday's contest against the Bengals with an ankle injury. If Whyle is unable to go for Week 5 against the Colts, Rader would have a good chance of being elevated for the second time this season.

  • Titans' Kevin Rader: Cut by Tennessee

The Titans waived Rader on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official website reports. Rader was attempting to earn a spot as a depth tight end. Rader wasn't targeted across five snaps on offense in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Bengals. • Steelers' Kevin Rader: Two catches during regular season

Rader caught two of three targets for eight yards during the 2021 regular season. Even though Eric Ebron (knee) missed nine games in 2021, Rader saw minimal playing time while appearing in just six games. He's made just seven appearances across his first two professional seasons and seems unlikely to have a massive uptick in production next year.

  • Steelers' Kevin Rader: Out against Tennessee

Rader (hip) is inactive Week 15 against the Titans. Rader missed Thursday's practice, which was sandwiched between a pair of limited sessions, causing him to enter the week with a questionable tag. The second-year tight end has served only in a depth role this season, so his absence shouldn't have much of an effect on the Pittsburgh offensive game plan.
