Jones cleared waivers after being let go by Minnesota on Tuesday, and he will now open the 2025 campaign as a member of the team's practice unit. The wide receiver spent the 2024 season with the Vikings' practice squad, but he didn't appear in any contests.

Jones and running back DeWayne McBride will cede their spots on the Vikings' practice squad to tackle Ricky Lee and running back Zavier Scott. Jones signed with Minnesota in April as an undrafted free agent, but he wasn't able to survive the training camp roster cuts after registering four catches (on eight targets) for 53 yards across three preseason games. Jones will look to catch onto a practice squad elsewhere.
