Jets' Joseph Ossai: Passes physical, removed from PUP
Ossai (undisclosed) passed his physical and was removed from the Jets' active/PUP list Tuesday.
Ossai opened training camp on the PUP list while tending to an unspecified injury. He's since been cleared to participate in practice, though it's unclear whether he'll be available for Friday's preseason opener against the Buccaneers. Ossai signed a three-year, $36 million contract with the Jets in March after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Bengals. The 2021 third-rounder projects to serve in a rotational role at defensive end behind Will McDonald and 2026 No. 2 overall pick David Bailey.

Jets' Joseph Ossai: Probably won't return this week
Ossai (undisclosed) is unlikely to return to practice this week, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
The defensive end was moved to the active/PUP list in late July due to a minor injury. Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Ossai should come back soon, per Rosenblatt. The former Bengal signed a three-year, $36-million free-agent deal with New York in March and should play a significant role once he returns.

Jets' Joseph Ossai: Placed on active/PUP list
The Jets placed Ossai (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
Ossai is working through a minor injury and should not be stranded on the PUP list for too long. The defensive end signed a three-year deal with the Jets in March and is set to start across from 2026 first-rounder David Bailey when the regular season commences.
