The Packers waived Lumpkin on Tuesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Lumpkin played 49 offensive snaps during the preseason and caught three passes for 26 yards on four targets. He's yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game.

Packers' Johnny Lumpkin: Inks reserve/future deal with GB
Green Bay signed Lumpkin to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.
Lumpkin had spent time on the practice squads of Indianapolis and Denver before latching on with Green Bay last September. He was cut from the Packers' practice squad after a few weeks, but he'll now be with the organization through the offseason. Lumpkin has yet to log an NFL snap, but he'll have a chance to compete for a roster spot during training camp this summer.

Johnny Lumpkin: Joins Denver's practice squad
The Broncos signed Lumpkin to the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Lumpkin started the regular season on the Colts' practice squad before being cut by the team Sept. 12. The move provides additional tight end depth after Denver placed Greg Dulcich (foot) on injured reserve Monday.

Lumpkin's release comes in wake of the team signing tight end Jordan Murray to its practice squad the same day. The 26-year-old failed to make New England's 53-man roster earlier this offseason after the team signed him as an undrafted free agent.
