Giants' Bryce Ford-Wheaton: Clear of knee injury
Ford-Wheaton (knee) played 26 offensive snaps in Thursday's preseason win over the Lions, catching one of two targets for six yards.
Ford-Wheaton hyperextended his knee during practice last Friday, but he recovered from the injury quickly and was able to lead New York's wideouts with 26 snaps on offense against Detroit. His lone catch came in the third quarter on a short pass, though he did draw a defensive pass-interference penalty on another play. Ford-Wheaton is attempting to secure a spot as a depth receiver on the 53-man roster after missing all of last season due to a torn ACL.

Giants' Bryce Ford-Wheaton: Hyperextends knee
Ford-Wheaton hyperextended his knee at Friday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
There is no word on the severity of Ford-Wheaton's injury at this time. A return to training camp sooner than later would be beneficial for the young pass catcher, as he is competing against a plethora of receivers for a spot on the 53-man roster. He spent his entire rookie campaign on New York's injured reserve due to an ACL tear. It is unclear if this current injury is to the same knee.

Giants' Bryce Ford-Wheaton: Returns to practice
Ford-Wheaton (shoulder) was spotted participating in Wednesday's camp session, Vincent Carchietta of The Clayton News-Daily reports.
Ford-Wheaton missed time earlier in the offseason with a shoulder issue, but it now appears that he's moved past the injury. With Ford-Wheaton back at full health, he's expected to compete for a depth role in the Giants' wide receiver room.

Ford-Wheaton (shoulder) suffered an AC sprain during Tuesday's minicamp practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Ford-Wheaton missed the entire 2023 season while rehabbing from a torn ACL, and while it appears he's completed rehab on his knee, the second-year pro is now dealing with a new injury. Coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that he hopes every player on the Giants' roster will be ready for training camp, though, so Ford-Wheaton should be on track to return by late July.

Ford-Wheaton (knee) was an active participant at the Giants' team OTAs this week, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Ford-Wheaton missed the entirety of last season after suffering a torn ACL in the preseason, but he now looks to be all set to return to the field in 2024. The wide receiver joined New York as an undrafted free agent in 2023 after a senior campaign with West Virginia in which he secured 62 receptions for 675 yards and seven touchdowns and he'll attempt to crack the Giants' active roster in order to make his NFL debut this year.

Ford-Wheaton (knee) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Ford-Wheaton suffered a torn ACL in Saturday's preseason contest against the Jets. The West Virginia product joined the team as an undrafted free agent earlier in the spring. He'll now focus on his recovery and earning another NFL opportunity in 2024.

Giants' Bryce Ford-Wheaton: Out Saturday
Ford-Wheaton (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's preseason game against the Jets, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Ford-Wheaton will now have missed all three preseason games. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Giants in March. Raanan notes that Ford-Wheaton had a good chance at making the 53-man roster as a special teams player, but his continued absence puts that at jeopardy.

Ford-Wheaton is expected to sign with the Giants as an undrafted free agent, Max Olson of The Athletic reports.
Ford-Wheaton started in all 12 games last season at West Virginia, posting 62 catches for 675 yards and seven touchdowns. He led the team in receiving and was named second-team All-Big 12 for the 2022 campaign. Ford-Wheaton showed elite athletic ability during the combine, posting a 4.38 40-yard dash time and 41 inches on the vertical jump. He will need to work on his route running, but his athletic profile makes him a high-level developmental NFL prospect.
