Atwell secured one of two targets for nine yards during Sunday's 41-34 victory against the Lions.
In his return from a six-game absence due to a hamstring injury, Atwell took the field for just four plays on offense but managed targets on half of them. Konata Mumpfield has had an expanded role in recent weeks on offense due to Atwell's absence but hasn't done much with his opportunities, leaving the door open for Atwell to reclaim the No. 3 position at wideout for the Rams. With Davante Adams (hamstring) potentially unavailable for a pivotal Week 16 Thursday night showdown against division rival Seattle, Atwell may be thrust into a much more prolific role alongside Puka Nacua if Adams is unable to go.

Atwell (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Lions.
The speedy wideout will be available to Matthew Stafford for the first time since Week 7 after overcoming a hamstring injury and being activated from injured reserve Saturday. Atwell has been a full participant in practice for each of the past two weeks, which should alleviate some concerns about his chances for re-injury. Atwell doesn't have a designation for Sunday's tilt against the Lions, so his activation from injured reserve indicates that he's available to return from a six-game absence due to a hamstring injury. If he's active, Atwell will compete with Xavier Smith and Jordan Whittington for snaps at the WR3 spot behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams (hamstring). Atwell is approaching the end of his 21-day practice window, which means he either needs to be activated to the roster or ruled out on IR for the rest of the season. The Rams plan to activate him following two straight weeks of full participation in every practice. Atwell logged a trio of full practices this week, as he did last week after his practice window was opened Nov. 26. However, Los Angeles has decided to keep the wideout stashed on IR, possibly because the team isn't prepared to clear an active roster spot for him. The Rams have until Dec. 17 to activate Atwell if they want him to be eligible to play again this season. Atwell (hamstring) isn't expected to be activated from injured reserve for Sunday's game at Arizona, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.
Atwell has been a full practice participant for the past two weeks, so this may be the equivalent of a healthy scratch. He can practice for another week without coming off injured reserve, but the Rams will need to activate him by mid-December if he's going to play again this season. Now coming off Los Angeles' bye, it appears he suffered a setback of some sort. The undersized deep threat now will be forced to miss at least the next four games while on IR, making his first opportunity to retake the field Sunday, Nov. 30 versus the Panthers in Week 13. Atwell recorded 10 snaps on offense during Sunday's 35-7 victory against the Jaguars in London.
For the third time this season, Atwell failed to record a catch. This could've been a product of precaution after injuring his hamstring last week as he missed the previous game, but with Puka Nacua (ankle) out for the contest, fantasy managers likely expected more production from the speedy wideout. Atwell sports a 4-164-1 receiving line through six games, and after the Rams' bye in Week 8, he'll look to bounce back against the Saints in Week 9.
