Texans' Jake Andrews: Diagnosed with high-ankle sprain
Andrews has a high-ankle sprain, and his return timetable is undetermined, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Andrews was injured in the second half of Houston's Week 1 loss to the Rams. He had to be carted off the field, so while he seems likely to miss time, his diagnosis isn't a worst-case scenario. Jarrett Patterson is slated to start at center for the Texans until Andrews is ready to return.

Texans' Jake Andrews: Injures foot vs. LAR
Head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters that the Texans will monitor a foot injury Andrews picked up during Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Rams, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Andrews was carted off the field in the second half of Sunday's game with what was reported at the time as an ankle injury. He'll undergo further tests to determine the exact nature and severity of the injury, but it puts the 2023 fourth-rounder in jeopardy of missing the Texans' Week 2 clash against the Buccaneers on Monday, Sept. 15. Jarrett Patterson would be the top candidate to start at center if Andrews is sidelined for an extended period of time.

Jake Andrews: Let go by New England
Andrews (knee) was waived by the Patriots on Monday.
The 2023 fourth-round pick from Troy missed all of the Patriots' 2024 campaign due to a knee injury sustained in early August. However, he was let go without an injury designation Monday, implying he's fully recovered from the issue. Andrews appeared in 16 games (one start) for New England in 2023, logging 120 total snaps (70 on offense, 50 on special teams).

Patriots' Jake Andrews: Should be ready for 2025
Andrews (knee) is expected to be ready for the start of OTAs next offseason, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Andrews never suited up this season and was placed on the active/PUP list after training camp began, then moved to IR in August. The Troy product was expected to be New England's starting center this season, but it sounds like he'll have the opportunity to take back that role in 2025.
