Stanley was expected to miss the entirety of the regular season after reverting to the Bears' IR with a knee injury last week. This settlement will now allow the 25-year-old, who has not played since his eight-game stint with Seattle in 2020, to join a new team once he gets healthy.

The cornerback was signed to the team's practice squad and immediately placed on the COVID list Dec. 30. Stanley last appeared in the NFL in 2020, playing 126 snaps over eight games on special teams with the Seahawks.

Stanley (undisclosed) was signed to the Packers' practice squad and subsequently placed on the practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Stanley worked out for the Colts in late November and was finally able to latch on with a practice squad, but he immediately landed in the COVID list for the Packers. He'll need to clear the health and safety protocols before taking the field for his new team.
