Texans' Derek Stingley: Scores first NFL TD
Stingley had two tackles, forced one fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown in Sunday's 23-21 win over the Raiders in Week 16.
Stingley, who was tagged as questionable due to an oblique injury, made an impact early, giving the Texans a lead 4:17 into the first quarter when he returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown. It was the first pick-six of his NFL career and his fourth interception of the season.

Stingley earned the questionable tag for Sunday's game after working through an oblique injury during Week 16 prep, but he has progressed enough in his recovery over the weekend to play. Texans' Derek Stingley: Leaning toward playing Week 16
Stingley (oblique), who is officially questionable to suit up against the Raiders on Sunday, is planning to play, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Stingley hurt his oblique last Sunday against Arizona and missed the Texans' first two practices this week. However, he logged a limited session Friday, which appears to be enough for him to take the field versus Las Vegas. Still, Stingley's status seems unlikely to be certain until Houston releases its list of inactives approximately 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Stingley (oblique) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Raiders.
Stingley upgraded to limited participation Friday and now has a shot at playing in Week 16 against the Raiders despite not practicing Wednesday or Thursday. The 24-year-old has started every game this season, accounting for 30 tackles (23 solo), and 12 pass breakups, including three interceptions.

Stingley was not thrown at until the final play of Sunday's win over the Colts, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Indianapolis quarterback Daniel Jones shied away from Stingley until the Colts' final offensive snap, when the cornerback broke up a pass intended for Michael Pittman. Per Pro Football Weekly, Stingley has been thrown at just three times over the last two games and has allowed a combined 23 receiving yards in the last three contests.

Stingley didn't record any tackles or pass breakups in Houston's win over the Bills on Thursday night.
Buffalo stayed completely away from Stingley, who played all 66 defensive snaps Thursday night. Josh Allen threw at Stingley twice, completing one pass for 11 scoreless yards. A first-team All-Pro cornerback last season, Stingley has been a massive part of Houston's elite play on the defensive side of the ball in 2025, essentially taking away half the field. He's recorded 25 tackles (19 solo) and 11 pass breakups, including three interceptions, across 11 starts this season.

Texans' Derek Stingley: Records third pickoff
Stingley registered two assisted tackles and two defensed passes, including an interception, in a 36-29 win against the Jaguars on Sunday.
Stingley's pickoff came just before halftime after Jacksonville had entered Houston territory. It was his third interception of the season, and the fourth-year cornerback is up to 10 defensed passes. That's tied for fourth-most in the NFL.

The 2022 first-round pick continues to prove why he's one of the league's top cornerbacks, picking off a pass intended for AJ Barner in the fourth quarter of Monday's loss. Stingley has now recorded 13 total tackles and five passes defended, including two interceptions, over the Texans' first six games this season. Stingley had two tackles and returned an interception 20 yards in Sunday's 26-0 win over the Titans in Week 4.
Stingley was in the right place to intercept a deflected pass and returned it to the Titans' side of the field in the fourth quarter. The turnover, the cornerback's first pick of the season, set up a 24-yard touchdown strike to Jayden Higgins that give Houston a healthy three-score lead. Stingley was questionable all week with an oblique injury that limited him to 15 snaps in Week 3's loss to the Jaguars. He was back on the field for 94 percent of the defensive snaps Sunday.
