Vikings' Will Reichard: Move to IR official
The Vikings placed Reichard (quadricep) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Reichard will be sidelined for at least the next four games after straining his right quad in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Colts. The rookie out of Alabama missed his first two kicks of the season in the game, having knocked down all 14 of his field-goal attempts and all 23 extra-point tries through his first eight NFL games. The Vikings signed John Parker Romo to the roster to replace Reichard as their kicker beginning with Sunday's game at Jacksonville.

Vikings' Will Reichard: Bound for IR
The Vikings are expected to place Reichard (quadricep) on injured reserve Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Reichard has been diagnosed with a strained right quad, an injury that may have played a part in his two missed field-goal attempts during Sunday's 21-13 win over the Colts. The rookie out of Alabama had otherwise been perfect through the first nine weeks of the season, connecting on each of his other 14 field-goal tries and going 23-for-23 on extra-point attempts. Minnesota will turn to John Parker Romo as their kicker beginning with Sunday's game in Jacksonville. Reichard will have to miss at least four games once he's formally placed on IR.

Vikings' Will Reichard: Set for MRI on Monday
Reichard will undergo an MRI on his right quadricep Monday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Reichard missed a pair of field-goal attempts in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Colts after straining his right quad at some point in the first half. The kicker was already dealing with soreness heading into the game, and Monday's MRI will provide more clarity on his status moving forward.

Reichard made both of his field-goal attempts and both PAT tries in Thursday's 30-20 loss to the Rams.
Reichard's perfect start to his NFL career continues. The rookie sixth-round draft pick out of Alabama has hit all 14 of his field-goal attempts to go with 20 makes in as many PATs tried. Reichard has hit from as far as 58 yards, but he wasn't challenged Thursday, as his longest kick was in chip-shot range at 35 yards.

Vikings' Will Reichard: Stays busy in loss
Reichard made both extra-point tries and all three field-goal attempts in Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Lions.
Reichard remained flawless in Week 7, making field goals from 57, 42 and 48 yards out in the process. The rookie kicker is now 12-for-12 on FGAs and 18-for-18 on PATs this season, including an impressive 4-for-4 on kicks of 50-plus yards. Reichard and the Vikings will travel to Los Angeles next for a Thursday tilt with the Rams.

Reichard made both of his extra-point tries and all three field-goal attempts in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Jets.
Reichard opened the scoring with a 54-yard field goal on the Vikings' open possession. He then received two more FGA opportunities in the fourth quarter to close out the scoring, making from 53 and then from 41 yards out. The rookie kicker is now 9-for-9 on the season when attempting field goals, including 3-for-3 from 50-plus yards.

Reichard made his NFL debut Week 1 after being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 Draft and winning the team's kicking competition in training camp. The Alabama product never received an opportunity to kick a field goal, but at least remains perfect thus far in his rookie campaign.

Vikings' Will Reichard: Wins kicking competition
Reichard's competitor for the Vikings' top kicker spot, John Parker Romo, was waived by the team Monday, Dane Mizutani of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
It appears that Reichard has won the job for Minnesota's kicking duties in 2024, which is no surprise considering the Alabama product was the first kicker selected in this year's NFL Draft. Reichard now stands alone as the only kicker on the Vikings' roster.

The Vikings selected Reichard in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 203rd overall.
Reichard is the NCAA's all-time leading points scorer (547). At Alabama, Reichard converted 274 of 275 extra points and had an 86 percent field goal success rate. Placekicking duties should be his in Minnesota.
