Rams' Puka Nacua: Expected to be "ready to go" next week
Head coach Sean McVay expects Nacua (groin), who is dealing with soreness in his psoas, to be "ready to go" in practice ahead of the team's second preseason game against the Saints on Aug. 22, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
The psoas is a muscle that runs from the lower back through the pelvis and to the top of the femur. Nacua left Tuesday's joint practice with the Cowboys due to soreness in that area. He's on track to sit out Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs before likely returning to practice ahead of the team's second preseason game versus the Saints. The standout wideout can thus be considered day-to-day for now.

Rams' Puka Nacua: Expected to practice next week
Head coach Sean McVay said Thursday that Nacua (groin) is expected to practice prior to the Rams' second preseason game against the Saints, Greg Beacham of The Associated Press reports.
Nacua injured his groin during Tuesday's session and worked on a side field with trainers Thursday. McVay indicated the star wide receiver is simply dealing with soreness in his groin, adding that Nacua should return to practice next week, following the Rams' preseason opener against the Chiefs on Saturday.

Rams' Puka Nacua: Working on side at Thursday's session
Nacua (groin) is working on a side field with trainers at practice Thursday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Barshop initially didn't spot Nacua (who is dealing with what has been described as minor groin soreness) among the Rams' practice participants, but the star wide receiver was soon seen working out on a practice field alongside Myles Garrett (knee). It's encouraging that Nacua is on the field in any capacity at this point, though it will likely be at least a few days until he's cleared to practice with his teammates, per earlier reports. Nacua is unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason opener at Kansas City.

Nacua's absence isn't unexpected, as initial reports after he left Tuesday's practice due to a groin injury suggested that the star wide receiver could be sidelined "a few days." He looks unlikely at this point to suit up in Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, but there has been no indication that Nacua's availability for Week 1 against the 49ers on Thursday, Sept. 10 is in question.

Nacua, who left Tuesday's practice with a groin injury, could be sidelined for "a few days," Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Nacua's issue was initially described as minor groin soreness, and Schefter's report supports the notion that the star wideout's injury isn't a long-term concern. With that in mind, it seems likely that the Rams will play it safe and Nacua won't suit up for Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs.

Nacua has been the star of Rams training camp through four practices, Nate Atkins of The Athletic reports.
Nacua has made some questionable off-field decisions at times, but his on-field effectiveness isn't in question, and the NFL's 2025 regular-season receptions leader has been piling up plenty of catches in practice as Matthew Stafford's favorite target. As long as Nacua stays on the field, he'll likely be a dominant force in the final season of his rookie contract with the Rams.
