This is Day 108 of the NHL lockout, 2012-13 edition. Every day, we'll serve up some CBA talk and help you get your hockey fix. Let's begin, shall we?

• On this 108th day of the NHL lockout, we just wanted to remind you that we should have been getting ready for the sixth annual Winter Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Monday afternoon. And what a day it would have been, with a weather forecast calling for temperatures in the mid-20s under partly cloudy skies. But because of the lockout we won't be getting to take advantage of it. Nicely done, NHL. Nicely. Done. Along with that, the All-Star weekend in Columbus, Ohio has been cancelled this season, as well as 626 regular-season games through Jan. 14.

The only thing that we do have for you on Winter Classic day is the result from Predictionmachine.com (which uses its play-by-play technology to simulate each game from the original schedule and predict the outcomes). It had the Detroit Red Wings beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1.

So there's that.

It's not quite the same, now is it?

• The NHL and NHLPA are starting off the new year meeting again on Tuesday. Hopefully, that's good news. It better be. We seem to be back to the "cautiously optimistic stage" in these talks. Every time that happens, there's almost always a sudden turn in the opposite direction.

• Carolina Hurricanes center Eric Staal on the latest round of talks: "It's almost January and we're not playing hockey and that's what we want to do," Staal said. "Unified or not, we're still not playing and that's the biggest thing to accomplish -- getting back on the ice and getting the season started. I just hope they can get it done. Personally, there's not a lot of comments I can make right now that I think can help the process. We'll see what happens." [Canes Now]

• Everything is an adventure with Iyla Bryzgalov. First, he was leaving his KHL team because the lockout was ending. Then it was because he had worn out his welcome with the team. Now it's because he was injured, according to the team. [CSKA Moscow, USA Today]

• Meanwhile, Boston Bruins forward Tyler Seguin tells Joe Haggerty of CSNNE that he is "one million percent healthy." That's, like, even better than 100 percent healthy. This isn't the first time that Seguin has had to answer questions about his health. [CSNNE]

Let's go back to last year's Winter Classic in Philadelphia, and New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopping Danny Briere on a penalty shot in the final minute of regulation. What a scene. What a game.
