After falling into an early hole, the Dallas Stars have pushed the Vegas Golden Knights to the brink of elimination. The Stars picked up a Game 5 win at home on Wednesday night to take a 3-2 series lead over the defending champions as the series shifts back to Las Vegas.
Through the first four games of the series, the road team won each game, but that changed in Dallas on Wednesday. The Stars won a back-and-forth affair, 3-2, with Jason Robertson hitting the game-winning goal in the second period. Jake Oettinger turned in another sparkling playoff performance with 25 saves on 27 shots, and he seems to have rounded into form.
Now, the Golden Knights will try to stay alive in Game 6 on Friday night. After turning to Adin Hill in goal for Game 5, we'll see whether Vegas head coach Bruce Cassidy sticks with him or gives the crease back to Logan Thompson, who started the first three games of the series.
