Martin Havlat wasn't very good this season for the Sharks before he had a somewhat predictable injury put him on the shelf for some time. Now he's back and playing lights out and is pretty pumped up about it, especially since he's about the only Sharks player playing at a high level at the moment.
So if he's a little angry, perhaps he didn't release his frustration in the best way possible on Tuesday night.
After scoring a goal, his fourth in the four games he's played since his three-month absence, he was pretty pumped up and apparently decided to let the Kings fans know that right now he's the No. 1 player for San Jose. Or something like that.
Of course, the best defense in a situation like this? Deny, deny, deny! That's the route Havlat took after the game.
But I'll be damned if this one sure doesn't look like it. The screaming face and starting straight into the audience while pumping the fist with his finger extended kind of seals it for me. It's not exactly Andrew Ference in Montreal, but not that far off.
So what could Havlat be looking at here? Just the possibility of a $2,500 fine from the league and perhaps a stern lecture from Colin Campbell. Hey, maybe that's cheaper than anger management classes, a guy can only do so much to no avail before it starts to eat at him.
