The Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators had a couple of fights on Monday. (USATSI)

The second period of Monday's Nashville Predators-Dallas Stars game turned physical when the two teams dropped the gloves two different times in one minute.

It all started when Predators captain Shea Weber got into it with Stars forward Antoine Roussel in front of the Nashville net. The two players were fighting for position right in front of the Nashvile net with Roussel giving Weber a shove to the back. That resulted in this.

Just one minute later Nashville's Paul Gaustad and Dallas' Vernon Fiddler squared off, again following an encounter in front of the Nashville net.

Games like this are a rarity in the NHL anymore as fighting continues to reach an all-time low. This was only the 39th game in the league this season with more than one fight in it. Last season there were only 45. The league used to averare more around 100 games per season with more than one fight.

The Stars went on to win the game 3-2 in overtime.
