Mancini was a healthy scratch Saturday versus the Ducks, but he drew back into the lineup over Zac Jones for Tuesday's game. The 22-year-old Mancini has collected four points, 12 shots on net, six hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through his first eight NHL appearances. He may not play on an every-game basis, but he's proven himself capable of handling a third-pairing role, and he should still get decent playing time since the Rangers are carrying only three right-shot defensemen on the roster.

Mancini joined the goal-scoring ranks in the NHL in just his fourth contest. The 22-year-old defenseman has held his own in a third-pairing role, adding nine shots on net, six blocked shots, three hits and a plus-2 rating so far. He may not stay in the lineup once Ryan Lindgren (upper body) returns, but Mancini is gaining valuable experience to be a contributor throughout 2024-25.

Mancini is poised to make his NHL debut early in 2024-25, perhaps as soon as Wednesday versus the Penguins. The 22-year-old blueliner will likely have to compete with Chad Ruhwedel for playing time until Ryan Lindgren (upper body) is ready to make his season debut.
