Miami has quietly been one of the best teams in baseball of late, winning eight of its last 10 games to move to .500 on the season. The Marlins are still a ways off the pace in the NL East but they can create problems for the Phillies, who are expected to be real contenders by the end of the regular season. Ryan Gusto (0-1, 6.00 ERA) gets the nod for the Marlins while Philadelphia gives the ball to Zack Wheeler (5-1, 2.22 ERA). Padres-Cardinals fewer than 8.5 runs
San Diego is sending Wandy Peralta (0-1, 2.18 ERA) to the mound on Monday in what looks to be a bullpen game for the Padres. St. Louis counters with Dustin May (4-6, 4.21 ERA), who is coming off a strong outing against the Mets where he threw six scoreless innings. The Padres have been one of the worst offensive teams in the league and with May coming in off a good performance, the SportsLine model sees these teams scoring fewer than 8.5 combined runs in 51.5% of simulations. Dodgers to win vs. Rays
Both teams have played .500 baseball over their last 10 games but the Dodgers have superior underlying metrics compared to the Rays, who have fallen a game behind the Yankees in the AL East. Los Angeles send Eric Lauer (2-5, 5.47 ERA) to the bump while Tampa Bay gives the ball to Nick Martinez (6-2, 2.43 ERA).
