Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Quiet domination continues
Suzuki netted his 27th goal of the season Tuesday in a 4-1 win over the Lightning.
Suzuki is on a three-game, six-point scoring streak that includes three goals, three assists, four PIM, 14 shots, 28 faceoff wins and a plus-6 rating. Suzuki is now just three goals from his third straight 30-goal season, and his 93 points continue to extend his career season. They also put him squarely in the NHL's top seven point getters overall. Suzuki also has 59 blocks, 57 hits, 169 shots and 665 faceoff wins.

Canadiens' Mike Matheson: First goal in 15 games
Matheson had a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 4-1 win over Tampa Bay.
His goal went into an empty net late in the third to push the score to 3-1. Matheson hadn't scored a goal since Feb. 28, a span of 15 games (five assists). He has seven goals, 29 assists, 143 blocks, 106 shots and 55 hits in 71 games this campaign. Matheson's 62-point outburst in the 2023-24 regular season was purely situational. His 36 points this season are the second-best effort of his career.

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Sparkles in fourth straight win
Dobes made 36 saves in a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
The score betrays what actually happened Tuesday. The Habs scored twice into an empty net. The ice had been tilted toward the Habs' net all night, and Dobes was outstanding. He had to be -- he was dueling with the NHL's best netminder in Andrei Vasilevskiy. Dobes has now won four straight starts with just five goals allowed (.965 save percentage). He's helped the Habs climb to within two points of the Bolts for second in the Atlantic division.

Canadiens' Juraj Slafkovsky: Now one goal from 30 this season
Slafkovsky had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
Slafkovsky wired a one-timer from the right circle past Andrei Vasilevskiy on a 5-on-3 power play in the opening frame. It was Slafkovsky's 29th goal of the season. The 22-year-old continues to pad his career totals this season (29 goals, 37 assists; 66 points) and showcase his development as a power forward. He has 29 goals, 36 assists, 159 shots, 98 hits and 74 blocks in 74 contests this season.

Canadiens' Cole Caufield: Ten goals in last 10 games
Caufield had a goal and an assist Tuesday in a 4-1 win over the Lightning.
Caufield has 10 goals (six assists) in his last 10 games and 47 snipes on the season (80 points). No Canadien has hit the 50-goal mark in 36 years. Stephane Richer last did it in 1989-90. Caufield is also just two goals behind Nathan MacKinnon (49) for the NHL lead. Is a Rocket Richard trophy in his sights? Sure, but the climb is steep.

Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Remains shelved Tuesday
Texier (lower body) will not play in Tuesday's road clash against the Lightning, per the NHL media site.
Texier will miss his fourth consecutive game as he continues to work through a lower-body injury. The 26-year-old forward has eight goals, 20 points, 69 shots on net and 55 hits across 46 appearances this season. His next chance to return to action is Thursday's road clash with the Rangers, which is Montreal's fourth outing of a five-game road trip.

Canadiens' Josh Anderson: Available for Tuesday's game
Anderson (illness) will suit up in Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
Anderson was under the weather for Sunday's road matchup against Carolina, but he seemingly is no worse for wear for Tuesday's divisional game. The right-shot winger is set to skate on the third line with Zachary Bolduc and Jake Evans in Tampa Bay.

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Starting in Tampa Bay
Dobes will defend the road net against the Lightning on Tuesday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Dobes has stopped 100 of the 104 shots he has faced during his three-game winning streak. He has earned a 25-8-4 record this season with a 2.78 GAA and a .903 save percentage through 37 appearances. Tampa Bay ranks second in the league during the 2025-26 campaign with 3.60 goals per game.

Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Suffers upper-body injury
Carrier will be sidelined 2-4 weeks after sustaining an upper-body injury, the Habs announced Tuesday.
Even if Carrier is on the short end of his recovery timeline, he figures to miss the rest of the regular season. With the blueliner on the shelf, Lane Hutson could see a significant uptick in ice time while Adam Engstrom steps into the lineup. Assuming this is the end of Carrier's regular season, he'll end the year having generated a career-high seven goals to go with 15 assists.

Canadiens' Adam Engstrom: Brought up from AHL
Engstrom was summoned from AHL Laval on Monday.
Engstrom hasn't earned a point in 11 NHL outings this season while supplying seven shots on net, five blocked shots and four hits. He has notched 10 goals and 24 assists in 45 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.

Canadiens' Arber Xhekaj: Draws in Sunday
Xhekaj logged five hits in 5:11 of ice time in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Absences for Alexandre Texier (lower body), Josh Anderson (illness) and Kirby Dach (upper body) have left the Canadiens' forward group thin. On the second half of a back-to-back, they opted to dress Xhekaj as a seventh defenseman for his first appearance since March 15 versus the Ducks. Xhekaj's playing time is trending down while Jayden Struble appears to have locked down a third-pairing spot during the Canadiens' playoff push. Xhekaj is scoreless in his last 28 contests, racking up 94 hits and 53 PIM in that span. Overall, he has two points, 36 shots on net, 108 PIM, 154 hits and a minus-6 rating over 56 appearances this season.

Canadiens' Lane Hutson: Registers pair of assists in win
Hutson logged two assists, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Hutson has earned four helpers over his last four games. He's gone 11 games without a power-play point, but he has nine assists and a plus-6 rating in that span, showing he can contribute at a high level at even strength. Hutson is up to 73 points (11 goals, 62 assists), 119 shots on net, 121 blocked shots and a plus-32 rating through 73 appearances on the year.

Caufield scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Caufield and Nick Suzuki set each other up for the Canadiens' first two goals. Caufield's tally was the game-winner, his 10th such goal this season among the career-high 46 he's potted. He's added 33 assists, 220 shots on net, 48 hits and a plus-26 rating over 72 appearances in a career year on Montreal's top line and first power-play unit.

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Secures career year Sunday
Suzuki scored twice on five shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Suzuki had gone five games without a goal, though he still had eight assists in that span. He had the first and third goals in the Canadiens' second-period rally, and he set up Cole Caufield on the middle goal, which was the game-winner. Suzuki has crossed the 90-point mark for the first time in his career -- he's now at 26 goals, 65 helpers, 40 power-play points, 164 shots on net, 56 hits, 58 blocked shots, 26 PIM and a plus-32 rating over 73 appearances. With nine games left on Montreal's regular-season slate, Suzuki is in position to take a run at a 100-point campaign.

Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Strong in Sunday's win
Dobes stopped 34 of 35 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Dobes collected his third straight win with this effort. He limited the Hurricanes to an Andrei Svechnikov power-play tally in the first period, which the Canadiens answered with three goals in the middle frame. Dobes has won six of nine outings in March, allowing two goals or fewer in six of those games. For the season, the 24-year-old netminder is up to 25-8-4 with a 2.78 GAA and a .900 save percentage over 37 appearances. His ability to get wins has helped him secure the No. 1 job in goal. The Canadiens' next game is on the road versus the Lightning on Tuesday.

Canadiens' Alexandre Texier: Won't play Sunday
Texier (lower body) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Hurricanes.
Texier continues to deal with a lower-body injury, and he'll be unavailable for a third consecutive game. Joe Veleno will remain in the lineup Sunday, while Arber Xhekaj will also enter the lineup as a seventh defenseman since Josh Anderson (illness) is also sidelined.
