Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Scores lone goal in loss
Zibanejad scored a power-play goal on five shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Islanders.
Zibanejad is up to 11 goals and 21 points through 13 contests in January. The problem for the Rangers has been that not enough players are following Zibanejad's lead on offense lately. The 32-year-old center is up to 23 goals, 51 points (21 on the power play), 150 shots on net, 75 hits and a minus-18 rating through 54 contests. As the Rangers continue to move into retool/rebuild territory, Zibanejad will have control of his fate with a full no-movement clause in the eight-year extension he signed back in October of 2021.

Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Takes tough loss against Isles
Quick turned aside 19 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Islanders.
Both goals against the 40-year-old netminder came in a 95-second span late in the second period, as Carson Soucy snuck the puck past Quick inside the near post from a bad angle before Matthew Schaefer ripped a shot through traffic for the game-winner. Quick has struggled to hold down the fort in the crease while Igor Shesterkin (lower body) has been on the shelf, going 1-6-1 through eight outings in January with a rough 4.56 GAA and .823 save percentage.

Rangers' Brett Berard: Called up Thursday
Berard was recalled from AHL Hartford on Thursday.
Berard spent some time with the Rangers earlier this season, and he recorded no points, 15 hits, nine blocked shots and six PIM while averaging 10:42 of ice time over 12 appearances with the NHL club. He was sent to the minors in early January but will provide additional depth for the Blueshirts ahead of the Olympic break.

Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Gets starting nod versus Isles
Quick will be between the pipes for Thursday's home clash with the Islanders, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Quick was mired in a 12-game losing streak before securing a 4-3 win over the Bruins on Monday. With the veteran netminder struggling, he has been sharing the crease with Spencer Martin while Igor Shesterkin (lower body) is on the shelf. Over the last eight seasons, Quick has managed to reach the 20-win threshold just once and is unlikely to do so in 2025-26.

Rangers' Taylor Raddysh: Nets goal in loss
Raddysh scored a goal in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.
Raddysh ended a 14-game goal drought, a span in which he logged just one assist. The 27-year-old is likely to remain firmly in a bottom-six role even as the Rangers begin selling off some veteran forwards -- Artemi Panarin didn't play in Wednesday's game for asset protection. Raddysh is at eight goals, 13 points, 40 shots on net, 43 hits and 25 blocked shots through 51 appearances this season, and even a move to the top six wouldn't dramatically increase his value in fantasy.

Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Strikes on power play in loss
Zibanejad scored a power-play goal on two shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.
Zibanejad's cooled off from his frenetic pace earlier in January, but he's still earned 10 goals and 10 assists while getting on the scoresheet in 11 of 12 games this month. For the season, the 32-year-old is up to the 50-point mark, including 20 on the power play. He has 22 goals, 28 helpers, 145 shots on net, 75 hits, 34 blocked shots and a minus-18 rating over 53 appearances.

Rangers' Spencer Martin: Yields five goals in loss
Martin stopped 31 of 36 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.
Martin took his third straight loss, a span in which he's given up 12 goals on 93 shots. The 30-year-old has been alternating starts with Jonathan Quick lately, but neither goalie has posted many positive results during the absence of Igor Shesterkin (lower body). Martin is now 1-3-0 over six appearances, allowing a total of 20 goals on 147 shots (.864 save percentage). The Rangers are at home Thursday for a rematch with the Islanders, which will likely see Quick get the nod.

Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Being held out Wednesday
Panarin (not injury related) won't play Wednesday versus the Islanders for roster-management reasons, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Panarin is also not expected to play before the Olympic break. In reality, this likely spells the end of Panarin's time as a Ranger, as the team has already committed to not having him beyond this season. A potential trade destination is unclear, but a new contract extension could be part of the star forward signing off on any move, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. Panarin has 19 goals and 57 points over 52 appearances this season. Fantasy managers will need to pivot to a secondary plan until a resolution to Panarin's situation arrives.

Rangers' Spencer Martin: Starting against Islanders
Martin will defend the road crease against the Islanders on Wednesday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Martin has settled for losses in two of his last three starts, going 1-2-0 with a 3.42 GAA and .882 save percentage during that time. However, he'll draw the start in the first half of a back-to-back set Wednesday. The Islanders are scoring 2.81 goals per game this season, which is the eighth-worst mark in the NHL.

Rangers' Urho Vaakanainen: Draws assist Monday
Vaakanainen registered an assist and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins.
Vaakanainen may have a clearer path to playing time in the near future after the Rangers dealt Carson Soucy to the Islanders on Monday. Vaakanainen got into the lineup on the third pairing Monday, playing for just the seventh time in 26 games since the start of December. The Finn has four assists, 15 shots on net, 18 blocked shots and 12 PIM over 23 appearances. Barring a call-up of a young blueliner, Vaakanainen will probably play regularly until Adam Fox (lower body) returns.

Rangers' Will Borgen: Ends slump with equalizer
Borgen scored a goal on three shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins.
Borgen ended his 23-game point drought with a long-range equalizer at 13:43 of the third period. The 29-year-old has remained in a bottom-four role throughout the slump, but he's best known for his shutdown work. He's at three goals, two assists, 47 shots, 66 hits, 62 blocked shots and 26 PIM through 46 appearances this season.

Rangers' Will Cuylle: Finds twine Monday
Cuylle scored a goal on three shots and added five hits in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins.
Cuylle has scored twice over the last three games. He had one assist in 11 outings between Dec. 27 and Jan. 19, but the 23-year-old looks to be getting his scoring touch back. Overall, the winger is up to 12 goals, 26 points, 101 shots, 183 hits, 54 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a minus-17 rating over 53 appearances as a regular in the Rangers' middle six.

Rangers' J.T. Miller: Pots goal Monday
Miller scored a goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins.
Miller has three goals and six assists over the last six games. The 32-year-old forward is up to 14 goals, 33 points, 100 shots on net, 88 hits and a minus-18 rating through 44 appearances this season. The Rangers' inconsistent offense has taken a toll on Miller's production, but his uptick recently corresponds with a span in which the team has scored 21 times in six contests.

Rangers' Matthew Robertson: Pots OT winner Monday
Robertson scored his first career game-winning goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime victory over the Bruins.
The rookie defenseman collected the puck in his own end, skated the length of the ice and slipped the puck through Joonas Korpisalo's five-hole with just over a minute left in OT. Robertson, a second-round pick in the 2019 Draft, is getting his first full look at the NHL, and his responsibilities should only increase as the Rangers begin to sell off veterans, with Carson Soucy heading to the Islanders on Monday. Through 43 games this season, Robertson has four goals and 10 points with 68 hits, 52 blocked shots, 45 shots on net, 28 PIM and a minus-2 rating.

Rangers' Jonathan Quick: Finally back in win column Monday
Quick stopped 21 shots in Monday's 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins. He also added an assist on Matthew Robertson's game-winner.
Boston took a 3-2 lead midway through the second period, but Quick shut the door the rest of the way and actually got some support from the Rangers' offense. It was the netminder's first win since Nov. 7, snapping a brutal 0-10-2 stretch, and the victory was also the 408th of his career -- breaking a tie with Hall of Famer Glenn Hall and moving Quick into sole possession of 12th place on the NHL's all-time list. The 40-year-old might have trouble climbing any higher, however, as next up in 11th place is Tony Esposito with 423 wins.
