BOSTON (AP) Devon Begley's 3-pointer gave Northeastern the lead with two minutes left and his two free throws with 25 seconds left iced the Huskies' 73-70 come-from-behind win over Kent State in their opener at Matthews Arena Sunday.

Kent State led 42-25 at intermission, but the Huskies rallied and cut the deficit to three points with 12 minutes left in the game. Northeastern never took the lead until Begley's trey.

Begley hit 3 of 5 from beyond the arc off the bench for Northeastern (4-2) and led the scoring effort with 18 points. T.J. Williams finished with 17 points and dished out five assists.

Jimmy Hall was 11 of 14 from the field and finished with 25 points to lead Kent State (4-3) in its first-ever game at Northeastern. Deon Edwin contributed 12 points and made three steals.

The game was the final non-conference home game for Northeastern.
