FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) Brandon Goodwin scored 19 points and Florida Gulf Coast routed NAIA-member Ave Maria 120-60 on Tuesday by scoring the second-most points in the school's Division I era.
FGU (4-3) hit 47 of 70 field goals - the second-highest number of field goals made in school history - and 11 of 21 3-pointers (51.4 percent) to win its third straight.
FGU's single-game record is 123 points, scored against Illinois Institute of Technology on Dec. 19, 2003.
Goodwin opened with a 3-pointer and a jumper and it was all FGU. The Eagles led 53-20 halftime after shooting 68.8 percent from the floor and holding the Gyrenes to 21.4 percent.
Kevin Mickle's dunk with 6:24 left in the second half made it 101-46. With just under five minutes to play, coach Joe Dooley put in the team's four walk-on players.
Chrisitan Terrell scored 15 points, Demetris Morant tied his career high with 14, Rayjon Tucker scored 14 and Mickle 13 for FGCU. Reggie Reid made a career-high three steals.
