NEW YORK (AP) Matt Scott and Chris Barton each scored 14 points and Niagara pulled away from LIU Brooklyn in the second half to lift the Purple Eagles to a 75-66 win on Wednesday night.
Barton's layup with 15:06 left to play tied it at 44, and sparked a 17-4 run that gave Niagara (4-9) an 11-point lead. Scott's layup with 5:54 to go put Niagara up 66-54.
Scott's layup put the Purple Eagles up 32-24 with 4:04 left before intermission. LIU Brooklyn (7-6) used a 10-4 spurt to close to 36-34 at the half.
Iverson Fleming led the Blackbirds with 15 points and four steals, while Jerome Frink had 12 points, on 5-of-21 shooting, and 13 rebounds. Jashaun Agosto added 14 points and Nura Zanna had 13 points and seven rebounds.
Dominic Robb had career highs with 11 rebounds and seven blocked shots for Niagara.
LIU Brooklyn has lost five of its last six games, including three in a row.
