Florida receiver Brandon Powell won't face any suspension from the SEC after being ejected for throwing a "punch" at Tennessee safety Rashaan Gaulden. In the fourth quarter of the Vols' 38-28 win in Knoxville, Powell extended his arm in Gaulden's direction. Gaulden's reaction drew the flag which led to Powell's ejection.
It's the right decision for the SEC since it's clear from an aerial view that Powell didn't make contact with his thrust.
Take a look for yourself.
"We've received word that he'll go and nothing from there, so it was full go from Monday afternoon on," McElwain said on the SEC coaches teleconference.
Powell is the team's second-leading receiver with 15 catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The Gators play at Vanderbilt on Saturday.
